Heart Beating Love

Chapter 1

       14 months after the fight...
Alex couldn't think of what to do so she grabbed her bag  and walked outside to the bus stop. Alex woke up earlier than normal and got done with her normal schedule earlier than she usually did. So Alex sat and waited for the bus on the bench by the street.Alex was reading when she noticed a boy walking her way. He must be new to the neighborhood because she has always had the stop to herself. He walked over and sits on the other side of the bench. Alex pulls out her phone and texts her best friend beth " Hey your sixteen now! Did you know we were getting a new kid?" She waited as Beth typed " Thanks for noticing and no why? Is someone at the bus stop with you?" Alex smiles and looks at the boy sitting across from her with his hood up."Yeah it's a guy." She hit the send button as the bus rounded the corner.Alex sticks her phone in her pocket since Beth rode the bus. She climbed a board and sits in her usual seat with Beth. She watches the boy Climb on and walk down the aisle and sit in the seat next theirs.
      "So Alex what does it feel like to be sixteen? And of course super sexy?" Beth says as she turns to Alex.
   " I am sixteen and so are you so figure that one out by yourself and I am not sexy."
      "Yes you are."
      "No. I am a nobody. My hair is a brunette mess and my eyes are grey."
     "So I think that is sexy" Beth smiles as she says it and so does Alex.
     "Well then you are crazy" The bus loads up as they got to more stops. Derrick, the head jock since freshman year, sits in the seat behind mystery boy. Alex can't help but wonder what he looks like under the hood.
    Derrick stands up and leans over the seat."Sup you the new kid?" The boy doesn't answer." Hello? I'm talking to you." Derrick waves his hand in front of the boys face. " Weirdo" Derrick sits back down.
    The bus arrives at school moments later. As Alex and Beth get off and the boy from the bus passes them while walking really slowly. Derrick walks right behind him, mimicking his every step. The boy turns around and stares at Derrick. Derrick is laughing until the boy's hood falls. That's when the whole school yard goes silent. The boy has bleach blond hair all natural about 2 inches long and its messy with green eyes. But his face was covered with bruises like he just got into a fight.
      Derrick starts laughing again " wow the new kid got beat up before he even got to school." Everyone started laughing at him. Alex runs over and grabs Derrick's shoulder and spun him to face her.
      " Leave him alone Derrick.He's new. Wouldn't want to ruin your perfect reputation now would you?" Derrick glares at her as he stalks off with his friends Alex looks at the boy and finds that he is looking at her. He turns around and walks towards the office. Alex stands in complete silence as the memory of his face flashes through her mind.
