Chapter 20

Adrian walks out and drops to his knees with Alex in his hands. All the adrenaline that had been keeping him up had disappeared. "Help! Someone help us!" A pair of nurses help him and her onto stretchers. A doctor runs up to him and starts working on him while the nurses begin talk. "Son did you see the man who blew up the hospitals third floor?" Adrian can't speak his mind is racing in a million different ways. The doctor looks at the bullet wounds. "Son we have to get them out. We don't have any anesthesia. So you will feel everything." Adrian nods. "Okay just get them out." They dig into his rooms and the pain is unbearable he almost passes out three times. Once their done they stitch him up and give him bandages. Then they give him stitches for the cuts on his face. They finish and leave ,then a police officer walks over to him. "Are you the guy who have the hospital a heads up?"
"Yes I also pulled the fire alarm."
"Your a hero kid you have saved hundreds of lives. I'm glad you were here to save these peoples lives today." The officer walks away Adrian begins to look around for Alex. He stand up and starts walking around. "Sir you shouldn't be walking around in your condition." Adrian grabs the doctor by the collar. "I don't care if I am bleeding all over this road you are not the boss of me!" Adrian releases him and walks away. "Are you looking for someone?" Adrian turns around and stares at the doctor. "Yes. Im looking for my girlfriend."
"Does she have a broken foot?"
"Yes she does."
"Then she got drove to the closest hospital so they could fix her foot."
"Where's the closest hospital!"
"We are transferring patients. We can get you but you need to calm down and go lay down."
"I will do whatever I want! You are not the boss of me!"
Adrian calms down and goes back to his bed and trys to relax. The doctor who operated on him earlier comes over to him. "We have anesthesia now if you are still in pain we can knock you out for a little while. At least until we get you to the closest hospital." Adrian thinks about then nods. The doctor pulls a nurse over who has a face mask. "Breathe in and count to ten."
" one two three...four..." Then Adrian was asleep and couldnt feel any pain. He is in the hospital being choked by his dad. He struggles and fights to get out. Then Alex appears at the end of the hallway. No matter how hard he trys he can't get free. Then his dad pulls out a gun and shoots Alex. Adrian comes to screaming Alex's name. He's in a hospital bed again. He tries to get up when something stops him. There are restraints on his wrists and ankles. His doctor comes in. "Why am I in restraints?"
"You kept thrashing in your sleep and busted your stitches. Also you aren't the best hospital patient ever. Every time you have been in one you have escaped before treatment is over. You escape by beating your way out."
"That's because... Last time I did it I was on a new drug that gave me hallucinations I didn't feel safe."
"Just to be on the safe side we are going to leave them on." Adrian lays back down but doesn't relax a muscle. "Also you may have PTSD."
"How would you know?"
"You were having night terrors and you are very edgy almost like you are preparing for the worst. What have you been through? You can tell us." Adrian looks away from the doctor signaling that the conversation was over. "We have placed a security guard by door just in case you get out of your restraints. Tomorrow Alex should be able to visit you." The doctor turns and walks out of the room, the door locks behind him. Adrian pulls on the restraints but they won't budge. How is he suppose to get out of here if he's on lock down? Adrian falls asleep and dreams about the hospital exploding again except this time his father tortured Alex. Adrian wakes up covered in sweat. Someone is holding his hand, he looks over and see's Alex sitting by his bed. "Hey how are you?"
"Good my foot hurts but I am okay. What about you?"
"I am on lock down and not allowed to leave until I heal."
"Adrian what were you dreaming about?"
"What? Why do you ask?"
"You started screaming and tried to get yourself out of the restraints. Were you having a night terror?"
"I don't know."
"I think you should let the doctors see." Adrian looks at her and stares for a while then shakes his head. "I am not going back to sleep ever. If what I just saw is all I am going to see I am not going to sleep."
"The court gave my mom consent over you since your dad isn't here. She thinks it would be best to get you tested. I am sorry Adrian but I only came here to tell you and wish you good luck." Alex leans in and gives him a kiss then gets out of the way of doctors. They push his bed out of the room and down the hallway. They come into a room and the doctors hook him up to all sorts of machines. "Okay Adrian we are going to read how bad your nightmares are. If they are too high they are considered night terrors. At that point we will give you medication to help with them."
"Don't put me back in there I can't handle it."
"I'm sorry son but its not your call." Alex stands in the observation room watching. She betrayed him and is putting him back where he never wants to go.
