The Shadow That Moves

Abandoned Warehouse
Night fell heavy over the city, thick and suffocating.
An abandoned warehouse near the docks slowly came to life as lights flickered on one by one. Long shadows stretched across a steel table scarred with old burns, knife marks, and bullet holes—stories of violence etched into metal. The air was damp, thick with the smell of oil, rust, and wet concrete.
Somewhere in the distance, water dripped steadily, each echo slow and hollow, like a ticking clock counting down.
Song sat at the head of the table.
His posture was relaxed, almost lazy.
His expression—unreadable.
Calm.
Collected.
Dangerously patient.
Across from him sat Yeonjun and Soobin. Both men were alert, backs straight, eyes sharp. They had learned long ago that around Song, silence was not weakness—it was survival.
A low hum filled the room as the projector came to life behind Song.
Images appeared on the wall.
Taehyung.
Kai.
Eunwoo.
Jackson.
Seojun.
Then—
Jungkook.
Song’s lips curved into a slow, deliberate smile as he folded his hands together.
“So,” he said lazily, voice smooth and almost amused, “Agent V finally slipped.”
Soobin leaned back slightly, crossing his arms.
“The charity event is in three days. Security will be tight,” he said.
“Too tight.”
“That’s fine,” Song replied without turning around. “We’re not attacking the event.”
Yeonjun glanced sideways at Soobin.
The look was brief but questioning. Neither spoke.
Song stood, his chair scraping softly against the concrete floor. His footsteps echoed as he walked closer to the screen. He stopped directly in front of Jungkook’s photo.
“We’re attacking his balance,” Song said calmly.
The air in the room shifted.
“He won’t abandon the mission,” Song continued, tone even. “He’s too disciplined for that. Too loyal.”
His finger lifted and tapped the screen once—right over Jungkook’s face.
“But he will protect this.”.
Soobin frowned. “You’re suggesting—”
“I’m suggesting,” Song interrupted smoothly, his voice sharpening just enough to cut, “that Agent V has finally grown roots.”
Silence swallowed the room.
Song turned back to them slowly. His eyes were colder now, stripped of amusement.
“Find patterns. Schedules. Habits,” he ordered.
“Do not touch the foundation.”
“Do not alert Han-seol.”
“And do not harm the president.”
His gaze hardened further.
“Watch the lover.”
Soobin hesitated before speaking again. “And Minjae?”
