**Taehyung’s Apartment
11:11 PM**

Taehyung stood by the window of his bedroom, staring outside.
The room around him was dark, as usual — the only light was the soft gold glow of a small lamp on the dresser. Outside, rain poured heavily, sheets of water crashing against buildings and roads, making the world look cold and blurred.

The night was freezing. And rain always came with memories Taehyung wished he could forget.

After discussing the plan with Kai and the others, they had left the apartment one by one.
Not long after, the sky broke open.

Rain.
Always rain.

In this same rain, he had lost everything.
His home.
His family.
His friends.
And his…
Love.

Taehyung closed his eyes for a second, breathing slowly, trying to steady the ache in his chest.

Then—

Ding dong.

The doorbell echoed through the silent apartment, jolting him out of his thoughts.

His eyes snapped open.
A frown formed on his face.

He glanced at the clock.

11:11 PM.

Kai and the others couldn’t be here. They had left only hours ago, and none of them would return this late. And Taehyung certainly wasn’t expecting anyone.

He moved out of his bedroom, footsteps soft but cautious, the rainstorm’s rumble following him through the hallway.

He stopped at the front door.
His hand hovered over the knob for a moment.

Something about the air felt strange.

Still, he twisted the knob and slowly opened the door.

He froze.

Completely.

Breath caught.
Heart stumbling.
Mind blanking for a full second.

Standing outside, wet hair plastered to his forehead, black hoodie soaked from the rain, eyes dark and unreadable—

Taehyung’s lips parted slightly.

“…Jungkook?”

The rain outside grew heavier, pounding against the windows like it wanted to break in.
Inside the living room, the world felt quieter — but only on the surface.

Taehyung stood stiffly, a cup of hot coffee in his hand, staring at the person sitting on his couch.

Jungkook.

His appearance was a mess — wet hair sticking to his forehead, clothes damp, eyes red, lips trembling from cold and exhaustion. Taehyung’s expression remained blank, but inside… a storm much worse than the one outside was raging.

He walked over and extended the coffee toward Jungkook.

Jungkook hesitated, his fingers shaking as he took it.

“T-thank y-you,” he whispered. His voice was hoarse, uneven, sounding like he had swallowed rain and regret both.

A small sip of the coffee brought some warmth back into his frozen body. The blanket Taehyung had wrapped around him helped too, but his shivering wasn’t from the weather alone.

Taehyung’s gaze lingered on Jungkook — just for a moment — before he looked away.

“It’s raining outside…” Taehyung said quietly, eyes drifting to the window.
“You can stay here for tonight.”

Jungkook’s head lowered even more. He gave a small nod, staring at the floor as if he didn’t deserve to look at Taehyung’s face.

Taehyung exhaled, a soft sigh slipping out of him, before he turned around to leave.

But—

“Taehyung!”

Taehyung stopped immediately.

He didn’t turn.
Couldn’t turn.

His fingers curled slightly at his sides.

Behind him, Jungkook’s voice trembled.

“I’m sorry.”

Taehyung didn’t move.

Jungkook swallowed hard, gripping the blanket tightly around himself. His eyes were glossy, red, swollen. He looked like he had been fighting alone in the rain for hours — and losing.

“I’m really sorry,” Jungkook whispered, voice cracking. “I didn’t mean to say those things… I know my words, my actions hurt you.”

He sucked in a shaky breath.

“But believe me, I—”

He broke off, breath hitching.

“I never wanted to make it that way. I never wanted to make you feel like that. I just… I messed up. I always mess up when it comes to you.”

Taehyung’s shoulders tensed.

Jungkook stared at Taehyung’s back like he was praying for it to turn around.

“I was scared,” he admitted finally, voice barely audible.
“Scared of how much I—”

His words died in his throat.

Because finishing that sentence meant exposing everything.

And Jungkook wasn’t sure Taehyung wanted to hear it.

The room fell into silence.
Only the rain spoke.

Taehyung stood there, unmoving, the air between them thick and suffocating.

Finally—

“…Jungkook.”

His voice was soft.
But it froze Jungkook in place.

Taehyung still didn’t turn around.

“Don’t apologize,” he said quietly.
“Not unless you mean every word.”

Jungkook’s breath hitched again.

“I do,” he whispered.
“I mean it… all of it.”

Taehyung closed his eyes.

Because those words hurt more than they healed.
