D-2 | 48 Hours Remaining

The road stretched ahead, glowing under the late afternoon sun, warm light spilling over the asphalt like everything in the world was calm and safe.

Jungkook drove steadily, posture relaxed, one hand firm on the steering wheel while the other rested loosely near the gear.

Beside him, Taehyung sat quietly, head turned toward the window. Reflections of the city slid across the glass—shops, pedestrians, traffic lights changing colors—ordinary people living ordinary moments, completely unaware of how fragile peace really was.

In the backseat, Jimin leaned forward, chin resting on the headrest between the front seats, eyes sparkling with mischief.

“So,” he said, grinning, “I still can’t believe you two just dropped that bomb at college and walked away like nothing happened.”

Yoongi, sitting beside him, hummed softly, arms crossed. “Bold move,” he added calmly.

Jungkook glanced sideways at Taehyung, his expression softening. “I didn’t want to hide anymore.”

Taehyung’s lips curved into a faint smile, fingers curling slightly in his lap. “Neither did I.”

There was something gentle in the way they shared that silence afterward—no rush, no fear. Just quiet understanding.
The car drifted forward with traffic, the hum of the engine steady.

Ahead of them, another car moved smoothly through the lanes.

Eunwoo sat behind the wheel, calm as ever, eyes sharp but relaxed. Seojun sat beside him, scrolling through his phone with lazy focus. In the backseat, Jackson leaned against the door, arms crossed, lips pulled into a dramatic pout.

“This is unfair,” Jackson muttered loudly. “Everyone gets to sit with their boyfriends except me.”

Seojun didn’t even bother to look up. “Cry later, hyung.”

“I am crying now,” Jackson complained, placing a hand over his chest.
“Emotionally.”

Eunwoo sighed, eyes still on the road. “Seatbelt.”

Jackson clicked it on with exaggerated movements, then slumped back. “I miss my Hobi,” he mumbled.

Seojun finally smirked. “You’ll survive.”

Behind them, a third car followed at a steady distance.

Kai drove with practiced ease, eyes scanning the road and mirrors without anyone noticing.

In the backseat, Namjoon and Jin talked softly about dinner plans, laughter low and warm. Hoseok sat in the passenger seat, humming along to a tune playing faintly from his earphones, fingers tapping against his knee.

Three cars. One road. One destination.
From the outside, it looked like nothing more than friends heading home together after a long day.

Just sunlight, traffic, and laughter drifting between cars.

Everything felt… normal. Too normal.
Kai’s eyes flicked to the rearview mirror. Once. Twice.

The same car. Still there. Same distance. Same timing. Same smooth lane changes. His jaw tightened—but his face stayed calm.

Without drawing attention, Kai tapped the earpiece hidden beneath his collar, voice low and steady.

“Don’t panic,” he said quietly. “Possible tail. Dark sedan. Been with us for four turns.”

In the second car, Eunwoo’s grip on the steering wheel tightened just a fraction. His eyes sharpened.

“Copy,” he replied calmly.
