Evelenen had been transferred from the English sanctuary around a week ago, something about none of his coworkers were willing to be within 20 feet of him. Of course this was because he was to intimidating to be around. How could it not be? He was good looking, with dark swept-back hair, blue eyes and pale skin. Evelenen took this as a new opportunity, he was being moved to a cradle of magic and apparently he was going to partner with one of two of the sanctuary best detectives. Her partner, the other best detective mind you, went missing a week ago and she was going crazy trying to find him. Today he was meeting her, and it was his time to shine.
Grand Mage Ravel was with him. Seriously, how more important could he be! "Okay, Detective Langare today you are meeting Detective Cain. You will be partners up until you find Detective Pleasant and if this case goes well, you will be assigned a new partner and a new case. Sound good?" He asked.
"All good sir." What? Just because he was important doesn't mean he won't call the Grand Mage sir. Don't worry, soon it will be the other way around.
He was led into a room and in front of him was a teenage girl, around 3 years younger than him. She was in all black with blood red as the colour of the sleeves on her jacket and she looked good. Like really good. Her hair was dark and her eyes were brown, almost black. She had a scowl on her face and it took him a moment to realise she said something to the Grand Mage."I don't need a partner Ravel. I need to find Skulduggery. He's my partner and I'm more than capable, finding him on my own." she said with gritted teeth.
"I know Val but it's only temporary." he responded, "I'll leave you two alone then to work on the case." She rolled her eyes and he left.
"So...Valkyrie."
"What?" She snapped.
"Woah, no need to be hostile. How about you smile? It would look so pretty on you instead of looking like you were going to bite my head off." He gave her one of his signature grins, the one that usually made girls swoon but she looked ready to punch him.
"How about you shut up so I can do my job before I realy do bite your head off." And with that she walked off. Evelenen wasn't fazed though. Soon she would realise how mutch she wanted him.Over the next few days Evelenen brought Valkyrie flowers, coffee, stuffed bears, seashells and chocolates. She threw all of it away in front of him, exept the coffee and chocolates because free food. Nothing worked. He was getting bored of this. How had she not fallen for him yet? While he was wallowing in self pity she ran in with a group of papers and messy hair, she looked so cute. "I found where he is!" She yelled, "Hurry up then let's GO!" He got up and got ready.
Evelenen was sure Valkyrie had told him what the threat was but he was to busy staring into her eyes. So when they got there he was completely unprepared for the many bad guys coming at him with magic and guns. Valkyrie took them all out with ease. It was as if she was possessed. When they found Skulduggery he needed medical attention but he would be fine. Now all he had to do was see if he got to stay at the Irish sanctuary. Which wasn't very likely considering he did nothing the whole time and Valkryie definitely wanted him gone. She also seemed very buddy buddy with the Grand Mage (he definitely wasn't scared of her nooo) which didn't boost his confidence.
Time skip
He was fired. Not moved, fired. Like not a detective anymore fired. Stupid girl. And now he was at home with two black eyes because she felt the need to punch him on the way out, and she had told Skulduggery what he did so he also punched him. Life is so unfair.
