"Inko, take Izuku and run," Toshinori rolled his shoulders, warming up his own Enhancement Magic. Izuku was still suffering the backlash of his usage of Cosmic Magic. It was incredibly powerful, but it definitely came at a cost.

"You think you'll be able to make it far?" The man made of mist asked.

"You think you'll be able to kill five Onyx?" Rumi replied. "The Divine Rapier has a cooldown period for that big blast after all."

The man tilted his head

The man tilted his head. "I suppose that's a fair point. But I was made for the Faded, I was made to save this world. I can handle a few dragons."

"Made?" Ryuko examined his form, or at least, what she could examine of his wispy entanglement. "The Eternal Lord made you?"

The man seemed unconcerned by Inko shouldering her son's weight, trying to hobble away. Nor did he seem concerned by the questioning. In his mind, it was all a forgone conclusion.

"I suppose reborn is a better word for it. Reborn as Kurogiri, the strongest human. You look down on all of us... all lowly species... but we have far more power than you care to admit in your blind hatred."

"Hey, I had a couple one-night stands with the Faded, I definitely don't hate them," Kaina added with a bit of levity, hoping to defuse the situation if possible.

"Don't project your own hatred onto us," Enji cautioned. "No species is perfect, but the NULL Lord is trying to do right by this world. You kill him, and you bring another warmonger into existence."

"Ah yes... his kindness," Kurogiri spat. "Tell me honestly, if he had to choose between Onyx and Faded lives, who would he choose?"

"You're implying he wouldn't try to save both."

"When push comes to shove, loyalties are revealed. No NULL Lord has ever shown true kindness to the less fortunate around them. I refuse to believe that he has broken the cycle of death an-" He raised the Divine Rapier just in time to block a full power breath attack from Enji, exploding with enough force that even the Transcendent-Class item couldn't fully negate it.

Kurogiri was launched back through the air, calmly regaining his composure, but not in time for Rumi's kick to his head. This time, he couldn't block. It sent him flying into the earth, cratering the ground with a tremendous shockwave.

"KILL THIS FUCKER!" Rumi shouted, using gravity to slam her foot down at the spot where Kurogiri landed, but not in time.

"If you run like the boy suggested, perhaps you would not have to die..." Kurogiri coldly remarked, suddenly standing next to Rumi. With a single slash, he cut all the way down to the bone of her right arm.

"Yeah right!" She shouted back, not even acknowledging the pain, driving another kick towards his head.

"Pathetic," He raised the blade so that she would slam into it with all of her force, essentially cutting her own foot off.
