A Calm War

A/N: So yeah, it's been a little while (I'm probably gonna copy this A/N to any other fic I update soon). I've been extremely depressed, unmotivated, and additionally, annoyed with YouTube's copyright system as people continue to steal my fics for content farms. The state of the world has left me angry and bitter, which is not conducive to writing a character like Izuku Midoriya. Not to mention, I just recently committed to my original novel idea, which is based partially on the story of the Gardener that I've laid out in some other fics. I'm just kinda floundering in my life and am having trouble staying focused on any one thing. So yeah... Enjoy!

The second Izuku stepped through his portal, returning home from the Summit with his delegation, he was overwhelmed by roaring cheers.

Practically all of Draxia had shown up at the Council Hall to welcome him back. The news of Izuku killing the Eternal Lord inside the Tower without punishment was celebratory enough. That excitement and pride was only compounded when news of war arrived. Their King would finally be the one to step forwards and end the decades long bickering between two Faded nations. Not only that, but he was liberating them, and giving their nation a new lease on life. When it came to morale, there was no greater war support you could find than being on the "moral" side of history. Even the conquering Onyx could respect that.

Izuku's spirit was lifted by the joyous return, and he paused to say a few words. "I seek to bring us into a new age! One, not where we trouble and harass our neighbors, but one where we step in to set them free of repressive and war-hungry governments! I'm no King of conquest! I stand here as a man looking to end the suffering of countless lives! This will be our new legacy!"

The shouts grew more incensed as Izuku addressed them. There were reporters here after all, many from other nations. He needed to make his stance clear.

"And to any within Fearis and Miro - neutral, ally, or foe - you will be treated fairly, and in accordance with the international law set out by the Tower of Gods' Delegations. The international laws so frequently shunned in our pasts. No longer."

Izuku wasted not another word. He turned on his heel and followed his delegation inside the hall. Everyone was bustling about, passing messages, organizing supplies, and so on.

Izuku bothered himself with none of it and instead made his way straight to the Council Chambers. He was stunned by the absolute silence they awarded him upon his arrival. He expected them to be a bickering bunch of kindergarteners.

"We await your commands," Mirai stated.

"No arguments to be had?" Izuku asked. "Nothing out-of-the-ordinary to be said? Typically, it is those out-of-the-ordinary outbursts that reveal something crucial."

"We stand behind you, my King!" A dozen or so voices cried out. Most of them were just happy to go to war.

"No dismay that we are only occupying and subsequently liberating? Not conquering?"

"Are you kidding?" Saiko replied. "This will do wonders for our reputation. And the deals you arranged at the Summit mean we have all the economic work needed to keep us busy and wealthy for the next hundred years."

"You are our King!" Many voices, like Sajin, cried out once more.

They had all been hesitant on his rule, or his wild suggestions. They weren't quite sure he had it in him. But after a Summit meeting? Hearing all that he had done? Any doubt had been washed away. Personal grievances and opinions would remain, but on this matter, they would follow Izuku to the ends of the Earth.

Izuku nodded thankfully to each of them. "Are the forces prepared?"

"Yes, my King." Aizawa answered. "Security details have been ramped up, and some slaves have even volunteered to be policing units for a time being."
