I asked an old dying man once about his life and why was he so happy
He said:
"Life is cruel, cold and hard"
"Life will never ever give you the things you want, even if you deserve them"
"Life is a bitch"
I was shocked to hear this because to me he was the happiest man I ever saw
so I asked "Then why are you so happy?"
he answered:
"Life is a bitch, but my wife wasn't "
"I never wanted a family, but now I know I didn't deserve them"
"Life is cruel, cold and hard, but that doesn't mean I have to be"
"So wheres your family now?" I asked
"My wife died, and my daughter is too busy to even visit me" the old man answered
"Then why are you so happy?" I asked again
He answered:
"Because I'm old, dying and alone, and someone still took the time to know me"
I tried to visit him the next day
but he was already dead

I asked him because I wanted to be as happy as he was
I tried to visit him because I wanted to better understand
but now
I'll never know
But I'm still happy to have met him

Dedicated to the dying old man whom I never met
and to his story that was never real
who taught me:
"Life is not about finding things that make you happy, its about being happy with what you find"
