Mia's face didn't look too pleasant.

"They are all stuck up jerks in this palace." She thought to herself as she stood at the balcony of her room.

The moon was shining high in the sky and beautifully lightened up the sky but Mia was feeling the exact opposite of beautiful.

Everyone seemed to have a problem with her presence and she didn't like that she had to put up with it. She had stayed indoors almost all day because she didn't want to have to face anyone in the palace.

"I shouldn't be so scared of them, it's not like they can harm me now, can they?" She spoke to herself while pacing around the room.

She was wearing a white silk flowing gown. It was very beautiful and the dresses were all that she liked about the palace.

I should step out for a while.

She went to the door and opened it slightly. She peeled through the open and was startled to see Justice standing guard just beside her room. She shut it immediately and placed her hand over her racing heart.

Then she opened it again, more composed now.

"Why are you standing beside my door?" She asked him.

"It's the Alpha's orders." He replied.

She scoffed, "he asked you to watch me or to make sure that I never leave this room?"

He simply looked at her and then looked forward without even replying to her. The maids that passed by the hallway where her room was all bowed slightly at him before continuing their walk past him and in effect, oast her door. She wasn't even practically existing to them. They did not acknowledge her or even try to be nice to her.

She was used to being treated that way, "I might as well get used to it." She would always tell herself whenever a werewolf member bullied her or said nasty things about her.

She could remember vividly when her second mate died. They had been married for only a few days and one day after he had gone out and returned, he suddenly developed a kind of fever. Clara, her best friend, had been there to help her just like she always does. Clara was also there to console her when Justin had rejected her. But nothing could be done in the case of her second mate, he does after three days.

It only added to her misery in her former pack, the Shadow pack. She was called a cursed breed and everyone stayed away from her. Living there was very hard on her.

One day, someone had even poisoned her drink.

She was wheezing and clutching onto her chest, trying to get some air but it was getting harder by the second. What made it worse was that others who were present stood up and all cheered that the cursed one must die.

It was after that incident that she decided to leave her pack and try to find a solution to her problem. Clara also supported her decision to leave back then as well.

The two had been best friends since they were both very little and were almost inseparable. She trusted Clara with all her being.

"Do you wish to step out of the room for a bit and explore the palace?"

She jerked back to reality because of his voice. She looked at the stoic Beta enforcer. He was looking forward, not even soaring her a glance.

"Did you just say something to me?" She asked to be sure.

He cleared his throat, "I asked if you wish to see around the castle."

"Oh, no it's..."

"You wanted to sneak out and that was why you opened the door and peeped in the way you did." He said with a flat tone that held no emotions.

It shut her up and she didn't say anymore of what she intended to.

"I will take your silence as a No."

Her eyes grew wide, "No,"

Wrong answer, she shook her head,

"I mean yes."

He moved away from the wall beside her door, "Well, let's make our way." He said and began to walk forward.

She ran to walk beside him.

"This is the kitchen." He said a few minutes after they had toured the castle.

They still had not gone very far. He showed her only the basic places.

She crossed her hands over her chest, he glanced at her,

"Are you not satisfied with your tour?" He asked.

She rolled her eyes, "I would not even need a tour to find places such as the kitchen, the maid's bath house and the other boring places that you've shown me." She said,

"And not to forget, all those places including the kitchen are all on the down floor. You didn't even take me past the place doors or even to explore other places within the territory." She pointed out.

"I didn't realize that you would want that and besides I can't let you leave the palace." Justice said.

"I'll inform Aaron about it and when he does approve, you have to let me go." She pleaded with her eyes.

They were round and big. They made her cute but unfortunately, Justice was not falling for it.

He looked away, "it's time for you to return to your room now."

Her mouth hung open, "are you serious right now?" She asked.

He did not reply and that only made her feel more frustrated.

"You all are so annoying in this God forsaken palace and territory." She yelled, earning the attention of all the maids that were there at that point, and stomped out of the kitchen.

As she was furiously walking back to her room, her shoulders bumped into someone.

"Sorry," she said and tried to help the person who was in a bent position with her hair covering her face.

"I didn't mean to..." Her words were cut short when a slap landed across her cheeks as she tried to apologize to the victim.

The lady stood straight and yelled,

"Who let a vermin into this palace?"

Justice immediately bowed his head, "she's Alpha Aaron's guest, Luna Miram." He replied.

Mia looked shocked at her, Mia's mind was still reeling with confusion and pain from the slap that resounded on her cheeks.

Straight hair, sharp jaws. Sharp enough to slice your heart. Mia was awed by Miram's beauty.

"Do not let your eyes meet mine, you pig." Miram barked and all admiration that Mia had towards her, suddenly flew out the window.

Hatred sat in its place.
