Mia had a very bright smile on her face as she stared at the parchment. She had actually made progress and it was all thanks to Aaron. He had visited about three nights ago.

She jumped when she heard the door to the workshop open,

"Aaron, you startled me."

He didn't say anything. He just walked up to her.

"You still haven't done anything." He said in a low rumble.

She sighed,

"I am sorry but maybe in the end the war will happen." She said downheartedly.

He held her face in his palm, "don't say that. They have given me more than enough reason to make sure that this works out."

"Who's they?" She asked him as her eyes searched his face.

"This week is almost over Mia. I need you to think hard. What's the most beautiful thing that you've ever had or that you've ever imagined having?" He asked.

"Is that going to help me create something?" She asked.

He placed his hands on her shoulder and he tightly  rubbed it, "look, once you're able to design something on this parchment then you will be given the tools and equipment you need to make a beautiful piece using the gems. There's a lot involved and the craftsmen will teach you how to use the equipment but it will be up to you to bring your design to life. From the parchment to our hands."

Mia sighed, "I'm scared."

"You don't need to. I can't do much now because the council now knows about it." He said.

Her eyes grew wide when she heard him talk about the council of werewolves. She knew the implications of their coming to find out about it.

"But how?" She asked.

"Miram has summoned them and that's how they knew."

"But she left the day we discussed it so how can she have full information about it?" Mia asked, still very baffled by what he was telling her.

"The adviser must have told her and frankly it's normal since she is to be my mate."

"Oh!" Mia exclaimed a little downhearted.

She didn't understand why she felt that way when she should not even feel anything for Aaron, her supposed stepbrother.

"I told you that you shouldn't have kept me here. In the end she'll be your mate. What's my use here anyway?" She asked.

Aaron held her firmly on her shoulders, "I don't care about the rest. I will make you my Luna and you will bring forth my bloodline. It will be a contract. There's nothing attached."

Aaron had lied through his teeth. His wolf was going berserk from being too close to Mia and Mia was suddenly hurt by what he said.

"He was right, nothing is attached. Nothing can ever happen nor will ever happen." She resolved.

"This week is already over, we will be approaching the second week of the deadline and that will leave you with just one week more. Make sure to come up with something. I believe that you will. You have it in you. Just think back to when we were still little, the little and cute illustrations you would make on the sand. Use that as a motivation and find your inspiration." He said and moved away from her.

She bit her lips. She wished he would stay.

"Get a grip Mia, he's your brother. Step brother I mean." She said to herself internally as she watched his back as he was about to leave. Just then, he turned back,

"Be very discreet. Make sure that once you have come up with something, no one finds out about it. You'll be summoned soon by the council of werewolves and there you would have to show them your design on the parchment. Make sure no one knows about it or sees it before then." He paused,

"You may not know it but eyes are everywhere and there are those who want us to fail. But we won't, be careful Mia. This is all I can do for you. Trust no one Mia, not me, not yourself, not anyone." He said in a tone of finality and left.

Mia sank into her chair and began to think really hard and just when she was about to lose hope, her creativity was sparked. After very careful and calculated strokes, she was able to design a totem and what the gemstone would look like. She realizes then that Aaron was right and it wasn't as hard as she thought. She just needed to open up her mind.

The door opened. She gasped and quickly folded the parchments and placed it in a jar she kept very close to where she sat to work. It was Justice that walked in. His eyes moved from her face to her jerky movements as she tried to fit all the parchments into a jar.

"How are you holding up?" He asked.

Mia smiled and moved to open her mouth to tell him about her progress but the Aaron's voice rang in her head,

"Be very discreet. Make sure that once you have come up with something, no one finds out about it..."

"Do you want to say something?" He asked.

She smiled and shook her head in negation.

"Oh I see!" He walked into the workshop and took a seat beside her.

"So how are you holding up? Have you been able to come up with anything at all? It's been a week already and this is the second week." He said.

"Yeah I know and trust me I am trying all that I can." She said,

"You're lying to your new friend Mia. So much for friendship." Her conscience nagged.

Mia bit her lips to keep herself from saying anything. She knew it was Aaron who called the shots and if she wanted to be free to leave this pack she would have to do as he instructed. But then there was also the contract that he wanted her to sign. If she agreed to, she would be free but it was preposterous.

She didn't care if he believed that she wasn't related to him. It would not change anything if there was no evidence to prove his claim.

Justice sighed, "I really wished that you were able to come up with something because now, you have been summoned by the council and you are to follow me in the next five minutes."

Mia's eyes widened, "now?"

**********

There's no time for Mia. What will she do now that she has been summoned by the council of werewolves.

I bet she's shaking in her boots cause I am. 😂.
