"I saw that you went to visit the slave she-wolf Mia." Miram said to Aaron the moment he stepped into the palace.
"And I see that you have been waiting for me." He replied flatly.
He walked past her through the great hall, to the stairs that led to the Alpha's wing. An angry Miram follows suit.
"You put your trust in her. It's a shame that you think that she will actually be able to do anything within two weeks." Miram said.
He scoffed, "I don't even need two weeks. All I need is tonight."
"What?" Miram thought.
She looked at him incredulously. She ran past him and stood in front of him blocking his path.
"Did you do anything?" She asked.
He sighed, he was tired of her rambling.
"I won't need to." He replied and walked past her, gently pushing her out of his path before getting to his room.
She was still behind him, "you know that you're not meant to assist her in any way. Your adviser was there. You're the Alpha you should stick to your word."
He looked at her, "there won't be anyone who will dare question my authority even if I decide to help her. After all, helping her will benefit me and the territory. That's enough reasons to render her my assistance."
Miram scoffed, "oh but you won't."
"Oh and one more thing," Aaron said and stopped in his tracks.
Miram stopped to listen,
She angrily walked out of this room to hers. She was heaving angrily. Her chest beating rapidly. She yelled and tossed the flower base which sat on her bedside table and it fell and broke into a thousand pieces. Her door flung open and Celia walked into her room startled.
"My Luna, why are you so angry?" She asked.
"It's that mutt. This whole territory belongs to me. I will never let anyone take it from me, much less an insolent brat." She raged.
Celie already knew who she was referring to.
"So what are you going to do about it?" Celia asked.
She turned abruptly to look at Celia.
"I want you to keep a close eye on her. Tell me the moment you find out that she is making progress." Miram instructed.
Celia scoffed, "do you really think that she will make any progress at all? It seems to me like you're already believing that she might actually do something."
"That's hardly the case. I just don't want to be in for any surprises. I don't want to underestimate her which is why I am putting you to the task. You start tonight."
Celia bowed slightly and left to do as Miram had instructed. Celia was Miram's greatest ally. Celia doted on Miram but that was because she was the one who had realized Miram after the death of her mother so she saw Celia as her mother though she was retained as the head maid.
The next day. Aaron heard a knock on his door and sluggishly picked himself up from his bed and walked to the door. His long loose trousers kissed the ground while his muscles flexed.
"What's the problem? It's still so early in the morning." He said he was still very sleepy and was very angry that his sleep had been interrupted.
"Clear your head Aaron. You may not like what I'm about to tell you."
Aaron shook his head to enable him to be more active. He saw that it was Justice who stood at the other side of his door.
Of course it's Justice, no one dared to come to his room at such an early hour.
"What are you talking about?" Aaron asked him.
"There is a meeting with the council of werewolves going on now,"
"What!" Aaron interrupted.
"Yes, it seems like Miram had summoned them and since she still has such rights and authority, they answered her." Justice finished.
"Why so early though? I don't really care if she summons them. She can do whatever the hell she pleases." Aaron said and dismissed Justice's claims.
"Why are you paranoid by the way?" Aaron asked him.
Justice sighed, "I don't know, maybe it's because she's talking about Mia and your proposition and agreement with her but of course, you won't care about that." He said sarcastically.
Aaron felt anger brew within him.
"What right does she have over that issue? I am the one who decided over it. How dare she?" Aaron asked angrily.
"Where are they?" He asked as he moved to his closet to grab a loose shirt.
"The council room." Just ose replied.
Aaron immediately left for the council room which was just behind the dining room. He opened the double doors and stood watching the expressions on the faces of the werewolves present.
Miram was seated on the high seat.
"So nice for you to be present Aaron." She said,
His lips thinned as he tried to control his rage. He exhaled lightly, straightened up and crossed his arms behind his back while he maintained a solid poise and a calm demeanor like he wasn't affected by what he was seeing.
"This is such a nice gathering." He said with a coy smile,
"Now tell me why you have summoned the council of werewolves my dear Miram."
She stood up and walked down to the middle while he slowly walked up to meet her.
"It's very simple, I want to make sure that you stick to your word. After all, we cannot rely on that wanderer who we don't even know what territory she's from." Miram said to the hearing of all the council of werewolves.
Murmurings erupted throughout the very large room.
"What exactly did you agree to do with this... what is her name exactly?" One of the council members spoke.
"Her name is not important. What is important however is the deal which Aaron struck with her." Miram said and then turned to face Aaron.
"I have been waiting for you to come so that you can tell them yourself your preposterous deal with that thing out there." She said loudly.
Then she reduced her voice, "did you really think that I would make it easy for the both of you? Especially for her?"
