Aaron held her hand and walked back to the craftsman workshop. He closed the door behind him once they were in.
She freed her hand from his grip once they were inside and then walked over to her table where she worked in the alchemist's workshop.
Mia sighed, picked up a wooden cup that was filled with water that was sitting on the table close to where she was standing, drank the content in the cup and then used her hand to run down her hair, causing loose strands to fall over her face, as she tried to reduce the stress she was feeling on the inside,
"Mia." Aaron said and tried the move close to her but she stepped away and raised her index finger up at him,
"Don't." She said and inhaled deeply,
Aaron knew that when she became like this, it was because she was creating a barrier around herself, an invisible one, to try to shield and protect herself because she was soon going to cry a river of tears.
She was fighting very hard to hold it in.
"Mia." He tried to say something again,
"Just don't talk, Aaron, because every time you do, something bad happens." She said and his face turned into a grimace,
Her words must have cut a hole in his heart at that point,
"That's harsh you know." He mumbled,
She turned around swiftly and faced him squarely, "do you want to know what's really harsh?" She asked him, her heart beat was slowly rising as she fought hard to suppress the anger and frustration she was feeling because of everything she was going through,
"What's really harsh is you keeping me here against my will and making me go through all these-" she bit her lips as she tried to breath properly,
"I get humiliated and insulted and now, this. It took me two freaking weeks to get something down on that piece of parchment and now, I have to build it in a week's time?" She asked, feeling very exasperated.
Aaron sighed calmly as he observed her restless figure.
She has begun to pace around and he knew that she must be struggling with regulating her breathing,
"Listen Mia, in the end, you brought this upon yourself." He started,
Her eyes shot to his direction, "don't you dare say those words. It wasn't me who kept myself locked up in this palace." She countered,
"But you were the one who came up with this proposal to save those who aren't worth saving." He retorted dryly,
"But they are also your pack members. They were once your pack, you belonged there and grew up there." She interjected with wide eyes as she tried to put some sense of reason through across to him, but regarding that matter, Aaron was as stiff as ice,
"I never belonged there or anywhere else. They brought me home and made me think that your father was my father. That he had been the one to bang my mother and then have me. Whereas, there were days when he treated me like nothing but a bas*a*d. You didn't know these moments,"
"You think I didn't suffer too? Your mother never missed a chance to make my life miserable. And you are my brother. My father is your father. Can't you try to consider your blood ties there and save them? Rather than bring chaos upon them?" She asked, her eyes searching his,
Aaron's eyes had become steely and he seemed ready to wreak havoc, "even till this day, I struggle to be accepted. Did you ever ask yourself why I ran away in the first place?"
Mia paused. She was dealing with a lot of emotions at that point and didn't have it in her answer his question,
"I don't- I don't want to stay here. Being here has been no different from when I was back at Shadow. It seems as though it's worse here than over there and I'm tired. At least I just had to deal with taunts, condescending stares and- I just need my sanity and a way to cure this curse. I have to be able to transform, somehow." She said,
