Seated on a blanket on the sand I looked out into the ocean.

So peaceful yet so scary at the same time.

I shivered a bit from the cold breeze, and he rubbed him arms up and down mine trying to provide warmth

Looking at the watch on my wrists I read the time time

2AM

Our "nap" turned into full blown sleep and by the time we woke up everyone else was already a sleep so all plans for the night were canceled.

But I wasn't tired anymore, so I made mani come sit outside with me by the beach that was walking distance from the Airbnb

Another series of cold breeze passed through the air, and I sighed

Hearing him hiss his teeth he unwrapped his arms from around me and a few seconds later his black Essential hoodie was being shoved over my head and onto my body.

"Nuh know why yuh nuh like listen" he grumbled pulling me back closer to him.

I rested him head on his chest with a smile on my face.

"Stay deh a smile, shoulda left yuh mek yuh freeze cause mi did tell yuh put on clothes" he complained causing me to smile more.

"But you wouldn't do that you like me too much"

"Anything yuh seh miss Johnson"

"So yuh don't like me?" I questioned

"No"

"Exactly nuh ask mi nuh f*ckry" he mumbled

"Can I ask you a question" I asked my voice coming out more serious than I intended it to.

"Why did you choose this life, I'm not judging you or anything like that I'm just curious"

His whole demeanor changed, and he looked down at me for a few seconds before looking away and staring into in the water.

It took a while before he spoke again "I ain't really choose this life, it was handed down to me and I had no choice but to take it" he says with a deep sigh

"When I was younger all I wanted to do was be like my father, everybody respected that nigga. He made sure that his family and the people around him were taken care of you know. And I always told myself that's the type of man I wanna be when I grown up" he paused and shook his head.

"If only I knew" chuckling he ran his hand over his face

"Where is your father I never hear you talk about him" I asked curiously

This was the first time he had ever brought him up to me

"Don't say that mani that's still your father and I'm sure what ever he did is forgivable" I said

"No matter what disagreement you all might have its not worth being mad at him because one day he's gonna be gone forever and your gonna regret not fixing the relationship y'all had"

"Was it that bad" I asked my curiosity getting the best of me

Hissing his teeth at the memory he began to unwrap his hand from around me and tried to get up.

Grabbing his shoulder, I held him in place before pecking his lips multiple times

The pain he was feeling was evident, but I know he'll never admit that to me

He pulled me back into a deep kiss.

Gliding his hand under my shirt he stated to message my breast softly

He took off off the sweater he had place on me earlier and was begging to take off my shirt, but his phone rang making his stop in his track

He reached for the phone, and I rolled my eyes before propping my self up on my elbows

He slid his finger over the screen answering the call and placed it on speaker

"The man dem want" he asked

A loud commotion was heard in the background before Daniel's voice came through "which part Eva yuh deh yuh need fi come back cause yuh Bestfriend and sista deh yah bout fi mash up the people dem place badman"
