[Friday, 9:55 a.m.]

A couple of days have passed since Levi had his first real encounter with [Y/N] back at the bar. It was now Friday morning, and he couldn't wait for the damn weekend. He hasn't even been through a full week of college yet, and he's already ready to throw in the towel. That voice in the back of his head keeps popping up, though. Everything Kenny had said to him and how his mother would have been so proud. Maybe that was his only reason for even doing this shit to begin with.

On top of that, Levi has never been a quitter. He was smart, so the work and studying weren't an issue, but the majority of the time, he couldn't stand the people. Maybe he will consider online classes if it gets to the point where he really can't handle it anymore, he thought to himself.

Levi's 10 a.m. class started in a couple of minutes, and he was dreading it. Another group of dumbass brats who would stare at him and instantly judge him. He couldn't blame them, though. He wasn't the most friendly looking person, and he knew that. Sometimes, he would even try to look intimidating on purpose so people would leave him alone. 99.9% of the time, it worked. The other 0.01% was named Hange.. but he didn't mind.

Believe it or not, Hange was growing on him. They even exchanged numbers earlier that morning when they passed each other in the hall, and he didn't even think twice about it. Levi wasn't sure why he so quickly felt comfort around Hange.. he's never felt that way around another person since his mother had passed. It was like everything just clicked, and although they were so different.. it didn't seem to matter. Hange asked Levi if he wanted to meet up after their classes for lunch, and he agreed. The only thing he was worried about was meeting these other friends she was bringing along.

About an hour and a half later, Levi left his class and made his way down the hallway. He had about 30 minutes until he had to meet Hange at the spot she chose for lunch. Levi had never been there before. He wasn't sure what to expect, but he hoped it wasn't some crappy food establishment with dirty silverware and bugs.

Levi debated with himself if he wanted to stop at his apartment building and grab his car because the sky was starting to get cloudy, but he decided against it. He used the GPS on his phone to find the location of the small restaurant in town. It was kind of old looking and ran down, but it still had a little bit of charm. It reminded him of an old style diner with its checkered floor, old hanging light fixtures, and row of booths seated by the window. The stools at the small smoothie/shake bar were a vibrant red. He seemed to be the first one there, which didn't really surprise him, so he sat at one of the larger booths and waited.

A few minutes passed, and he pulled out his phone and started scrolling down his news feed on Instagram. The man behind the bar was staring at him funny, so he began to type random nothings into his phone to make it look like he had friends.

About 5 more minutes passed when finally the door jingled open, and a group of people walked in, speaking loudly between themselves. In the midst of the group, Levi spotted Hange and the two other guys she had introduced to him the other day. There were also a couple of others mixed in between them, but he didn't recognize them at all.

Then, trailing behind the group, two girls walked in, speaking quietly amongst themselves. One had short dark hair and a red scarf wrapped around her neck. The other, he recognized as [Y/N]. She was wearing something much more casual than she wore the other night at the bar, and her face was clean and bare of make-up. She looked much more relaxed than she did the other night. I hope she's doing much better now, Levi thought.

"Aw bloody hell!" The man behind the smoothie bar opened the door to the kitchen and yelled to the cooks. "The tator tot girl is here! Hurry up! Get ready to prepare the deep fryers and oil for battle. It's going to be a long fucking afternoon!"
