That night after the dance, Levi offered to walk [Y/N] back to her dorm, but she kindly declined. Instead, he waited a few minutes with her in the gym, and Fritzy ended up meeting up with her, and they walked back to their dorm together. It didn't make him feel no type of way, considering they still really weren't that close. Maybe she didn't feel comfortable with him knowing where she stayed yet. It made sense, so he didn't let it bother him much.

Truly, he was just trying to be a gentleman by offering to escort her. I hope she didn't think I was trying to end the night in a different way, he thought. [Y/N] did end up giving him a long hug, though. She thanked him for dealing with her emotional ass all night long and for lifting her spirits. She didn't mention it to anyone, but the way Levi's cologne lingered on her clothing after they parted ways gave her butterflies. As much as Levi hated hugs, he didn't want that one particular hug to end.

Zeke never did show up again that night. To everyone's surprise, he's been missing.. for a few days now, actually. Levi was surprised when Zeke didn't show up to his early morning class on Tuesday with Professor Smith. He was looking forward to another possible exchange with him. He figured Zeke was either trying to keep his distance, or he's just been up to no good. Everyone else has known Zeke long enough to be worried, though. It wasn't like him to miss his classes. It was also very out of the ordinary for him to just disappear.. even his group of friends or parents haven't heard from him.

[Wednesday, 12:00 p.m.]

Levi had his follow-up appointment at Dr. Jaeger's office today, and he was not excited about it. He hated doctors, nurses, hospitals, shots, check-ups.. basically anything that involved people getting close to him and inspecting him. Also.. the germs. The thought of all of the germs lingering in those places disgusted him to no end. Of course, he brought a face mask with him. He had a whole pack of them in his car.

"Levi Ackerman?" The female receptionist called from behind the sliding glass window at the front desk. Levi stood slowly and walked over, adjusting the mask on his face.

"Yes?"

"Sir, you haven't filled out this section of your paperwork where the health insurance information goes." She handed him the paper and looked back down at some files.

"Because I don't have any."

"Oh.. well, you are aware that you will be 100% responsible for the cost of your visit?"

"Yeah, yeah. Sure." Levi turned, walked back over to his seat, and threw his arms crossed over his chest.

Another reasoned he hated doctors. All money hungry pigs. The same as every other big business or industry on this stupid planet. Money wasn't an issue. He had that. It was just something he's always felt strongly about so he'd bitch about it any chance he had.

A few more moments passed when the nurse behind the desk walked around to a door and called Levi's name. She walked him into a room and told him a nurse would be in soon to check his vitals and such before he saw the doctor. Great, more time wasted waiting here, he thought. Finally, he heard a knock at the door.

"Come in." He said loudly.

"Hi there, sweetie. Let me just take a look at your chart real quick.." He noticed the nurse walk in, her face down looking at his file, hair net, and mask on. He could barely see what she looked like, but he recognized that uplifting voice instantly.

"[Y/N]?"

She lifted her head and lowered her mask. As soon as she noticed Levi, her face lit up with a soft, kind smile. Suddenly, Levi felt a wave of genuine comfort hit him like a ton of bricks. A feeling he's only felt with his mother and recently with Hange.
