[This chapter is going to be less Levi and more [Y/N]. I think it's important to finally get some more backstory on her family, her childhood, her feelings, etc. It's only right for you to understand more about yourself, right [Y/N]? 🤭]

That night after Dr. Jaeger left Levi's hospital room.. the feeling in the air was strange indeed. [Y/N] and Levi sat in silence for about an hour until she finally decided to leave. To be honest, she didn't really want to leave, but she figured Levi would want some time alone to process his thoughts.

As [Y/N] said her goodbyes, all he did was nod and continue staring out of his hospital window up at the night sky. Text the group chat if you need anything. Anything at all. I can always come back, she told him before she walked out. She couldn't even begin to imagine how Levi felt after hearing Dr. Jaeger's warnings. Even [Y/N] was still in absolute shock, and it didn't even have anything to do with her personally. Although, Dr. Jaeger saying her life could be in danger as well if word got out she knew about the situation did freak her the fuck out. What the fuck is going on.

[Friday, 9:10 p.m.]

On her walk home, she made the decision to stop to see her parents instead of heading back to her dorm. She hadn't seen them in a while and she knew it was getting late but she thought maybe they would be happy to see her face for once. [Y/N] did her best to avoid her parents for as long as she could most times, but with everything going on lately, she really wanted to be surrounded by somebody.. anybody. Going back to her dorm and having to face Fritzy just didn't sound fun, either. She always asked too many questions and enjoyed being nosey.

[Y/N] approached the large contemporary styled 2 story home and rang the bell. She could tell the lights were still lit on the 1st floor, so she knew they were still awake.

The door eventually opened, and her mother stood at the other side. Her eyes widened with surprise. "[Y/N]! Sweetie, how are you? How is school? If I knew you were stopping by, I would have made sure we left some dinner! There are snacks in the pantry if you are hungry and.."

"Hi Mom.. I'm fine. I'm just tired. School's been.. interesting.." [Y/N]'s voice lowered at the last words. "I'm not hungry at the moment, thanks, though. Where is Dad?"

"Oh.. you know your Father. He ate dinner and headed down to his lab to work on some more stuff. He doesn't show his face much these days. Busy busy, as always." Her mother smiled.

Yeah. Busy. The usual, [Y/N] thought to herself. Her father was a big wig scientist at a government research organization. When she was younger, he was always traveling abroad from place to place for work with the family. As he's gotten older, he spends a lot more time researching in his basement lab, sending results and information over digitally.

[Y/N]'s mother has just been a stay at home mom since she was born. She worked as a nurse at a retirement home for a few years before she was born, but her father urged her to leave and stay home. Her mother did always mention wanting to return back to work, but her father demanded that it was safer for her to just stay home. It never made sense to [Y/N], considering it being 'safer at home' wasn't a good excuse for a woman not being allowed to work.

She always got those 'angry and controlling' vibes from her dad, but he did normally seem like a great, supportive husband and good father, especially when [Y/N] was younger. Around 7 or 8 years old, though, things started to switch up. Her father became much more protective of her and started trying to do anything to keep her home. Even home schooling her for a while was a thing, but once she became an adult and agreed to attend Freedom University, all of that had to come to an end whether he liked it or not.

[Y/N] removed her thin jacket, hung it on a small rack by the front door, and continued into the large living area of the house. Her mother followed closely behind and then sat on the tan colored sofa in the middle of the room. [Y/N] slowly walked around the room, glancing at all of the photos filled with memories. Most of the photos were from when she was younger, but they still made her happy inside. A much simpler time, she thought. Back when things made sense and we felt like a real family.
