"Shit. What.. the fuck.." Eren mumbled under his breath. He stood up slowly off the ground, still feeling the effects of the unbelievably strong punch to the gut he received moments ago. Watching the crowd disperse, he caught a glimpse of the girls carrying Levi in the direction of the ambulance in the distance. He sighed and slapped himself hard in the face. I fucked up again, didn't I?, he thought. He did, indeed, fuck up."YOU DUMBASS!" Fritzy yelled as she suddenly gave Eren a swift kick to the balls. He collapsed instantly and curled into a fetal position. Fritzy kneeled next to him and shook her head in disgust. "Jaeger, you have some issues. You know that? You can't be letting shit like that slip! He is fighting those memories hard. It's like even his mind in this life doesn't want to remember them. Even the smallest thing his subconscious may find familiar is triggering whatever these side effects are that he is having."
"Ughhh.." Eren rocked back and forth on the ground, still in fetal position, with his hands between his legs. "..but I thought we wanted him to remember faster."
"That was before I was aware of the negative reaction his body is having. He's an Ackerman, Eren. I don't have as much of an effect on them. You know they are.. different, even in this life. I was aware there may have been side effects, but his are clearly more extreme because of his bloodline. The fact that his mind is somehow rejecting his ability to remember won't make it any easier. I'm sad to say there is a chance he may never remember. If he doesn't.. this whole plan would be for nothing.." Fritzy said in an almost disappointed tone.
"What about.. Mikasa?" Eren said as he finally sat up, grimacing in pain.
"I'm sorry, Eren.. the same may apply to her as well. We just won't know until it starts to happen, I'm afraid.." Fritzy said as she lowered her head. "I understand how important this is to you, Eren, but I also told you there is a chance this won't work out. All we can do is let things play out. Right now, you need to try not to let anything slip around Levi.. we need him. All of this is affecting him physically as well as mentally. If we push him too far.. one of those episodes may end up killing him. So just keep that big mouth of yours in check, would ya?"
Eren nodded and stood up slowly. "Ymir, is it weird that I kind of missed getting my ass kicked by him?"
"Dont worry, I'll be sure to tell him that if the time comes and he gets his memories back. He'd be pleased to hear those words."
"What? N-No! It was a joke!"
"Sure it was." Fritzy smiled softly.
"Captain Levi.." Eren whispered to himself as he glanced back over to the ambulance in the distance. He sighed deeply, and a look of sadness swept over his face. "Please.. remember.."
On the other side of the football field, the girls and Levi had arrived at the ambulance. Now, laying down on a stretcher, the EMTs began to inspect Levi. They took his heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and checked his body for anything out of the ordinary. Hange paced back and forth like a worried parent just outside the back of the ambulance, as [Y/N] and Mikasa sat on the concrete nearby.
"Hange, sit the fuck down you're making me anxious too." [Y/N] pleaded with her as Mikasa nodded along. "I'm sure he is going to be fine. If they thought something was seriously wrong, they would have rushed him to the hospital already."
"I should have told him to stay home! Why didn't he tell me he didn't feel good? I'm a terrible person! He wasn't feeling 100%, and I forced him to come out today! I am selfish! Selfish, I tell you! What if he dies?!" Hange went back and forth with herself for a few minutes over thinking the situation. "OH LEVIIII I'M SO SORRY!" She yelled dramatically while holding her arms up to the sky.
