Don't leave just yet...

A surprise

(Dazai's POV)
Friday 12.30pm

"If I can just..." I run after one of these wretched shadows, hoping to touch them as Chuuya-

"Dumbass!" He jumps on me- well, pushes me away from the danger of the shadow behind my back and lands on me. What the fuck? Being so cool?

"I nearly had them!" I sound annoyed, though this ginger and I both know I enjoyed his touch.

"Better luck next time." His fierce voice pierced through the tension like a sword, bringing a smile to my face in an instant. Fuck, the things I would let this man do to m- focus!

I lunge forward, nearly grabbing those damned things that zip through the air like mosquitoes. A grunt of annoyance leaves my mouth as he- again- saves my ass.

"Wait, fuck, you touched me-" I look up.

"I don't need my ability for these idiots." He flashes a white‐ toothed grin, making my stomach flutter with butterflies. And before we knew it, our instincts took over: fighting against them in unison just as we had always before. A feeling so familiar I forget how it feels without his presence.

"Got them!" Chuuya looks at me as the all the shadows finally dissipates into particles and leaving soot stains on the cobbled roads. I smile. He smiles.

"We should make-out-"

"We have more important things to do, dumb waste of bandages." He adjusts his hat and walks towards the warehouse entrance, slightly nervous to see what we'll see.

His gloved hand pushes down on the handle- the rusty door doesn't move an inch.

"Locked. At least they weren't dumb enough to leave it open." He grumbles under his breath and in one swift motion of his long legs, the blue door clanks on the ground.

"Akutagawa? Atsushi?" My voice echoes in the dark warehouse, the light from the sun just highlighting the shapes of two bodies hunched together. And trails of blood. Loads of blood.
