Nobody's POV:
Every once in a while, Kaveh and Alhaitham would plan out a date for the two of them to just be together in a special spot. Regardless of how tired they were, regardless of how broken they were, regardless of anything, the both of them would always want to be together. To just be together was like healing for the both of them.

Alhaitham loved the way Kaveh would hold his fingers, kiss the outside of his hand, lay on his chest, wrap his arms around him.. it was easy to assume Alhaitham was smitten with Kaveh. And for Kaveh, he loved the way Alhaitham would kiss his lips, his forehead, his nose, his neck, the way he would wrap his arms around his waist, the way he would just pull Kaveh close, and keep him close.. Kaveh would do anything for Alhaitham.

And today was one of the days where the two of them required a break. A break together. Just to relax together, and to forget about all of their troubles. To wrap their arms around each other, kiss each other, and give each other all of their love. So, Kaveh planned out a cute date just for them.

"Hayi, I love you." Kaveh whispered as he cuddled up against Alhaitham, careful not to trip any of their drinks or sweets sitting on the picnic blanket. Kaveh and drank one too many wines, and became all lovey dovey, like he always did. "I love you too, my princess.." Alhaitham whispered, as he wrapped his jacket around Kaveh.

Eating and drinking together was enjoyable for the both of them. Both of them felt so comfortable around each other, and so.. relaxed. Kaveh grabbed his wine glass that sat aside next to the basket in which they bought their food. He sipped his wine calmly, resting against his boyfriend's chest. "Don't drink too much, my love." The scribe warned, giving the architect a kiss on the forehead.

"I'll try not too, sweetheart.." Alhaitham's heart melted at hearing his boyfriend call him that. "Sweetheart" was one of the nicknames his parents used to call each other. That was one of the only things about them that he firmly remembered. And Kaveh seemed to call him that little nickname all the time without even knowing how much it meant to him.

"Oh! Oh! By the way, I made you something I thought you would really like." Kaveh giggled, reaching over to their picnic basket. He pulled out something. It was a sweet looking vanilla dish, with a few cherries on top. "Ta-da!! I remember you told me your grandma would make you this dish called "Ila Flottante", so I thought I would make it once I get the reci-" before Kaveh could finish, Alhaitham pressed his lips against Kaveh's.

He could barely believe his eyes when he saw that certain dessert he was so fond of in the past.. before he had to mature so quickly. Before he was so.. alone. And now, his sweet boyfriend.. his sweet boyfriend had made it just for him. Alhaitham cherished the way the warmth of Kaveh's lips spread onto his before letting go. "Kaveh.. thank you so much.." The scribe whispered as he wrapped his boyfriend into a warm hug. "Of- of course!-" Kaveh replied, too flustered to even think.

"You're.. so thoughtful and sweet.. I love you so much, Kaveh.." Alhaitham whispered, smiling against Kaveh's shoulder, blush softly spreading across his face. "I love you too, Alhaitham.. you're even sweeter.. and you deserve the world.. but the world doesn't deserve someone like you." The blonde wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, warming both of them.

"Now, say "ahh". I'm not sure if I got the recipe as good as you remember it, but.. I tried!" Kaveh laughed, getting a spoon and scooping up a bit of the Fontainian dessert. Alhaitham chuckled a bit as he pressed a small kiss against Kaveh's forehead before speaking. "You're so cute, Kaveh.." maybe it was the way he said his name, but it got Kaveh's heart to race. "Ahhh.." Alhaitham opened his mouth, only enough for Kaveh to slip the dessert inside.

Alhaitham took a bite out of it, and the sweet refreshing flavors that he remembered from the past rushed against his tongue. A sense of nostalgia came over him, and suddenly, everything began to feel so much better.

~Flashback~ (ikr, finally an Algaytham one!)
"Alhaitham, sweetheart! Come, I've made you a dessert." Alhaitham's grandma spoke, her kind tone made Alhaitham almost sprint to her. The future scribe LOVED the most cavity inducing desserts because of the sweet flavors it brought to his tongue. "It's a Fontainian dessert, called Ila Flottante. It's a sweet dish, so I thought you would like it!" The older woman spoke, a smile across her face.

"It smells so tasty!" Alhaitham, who was only 5 at the time spoke, excitedly grabbing a spoon. He quickly scooped up a bite for himself, and immediately put it in his mouth. "Mm! It tastes so good!" Alhaitham exclaimed from delight, grabbing another spoonful.

"I'm glad you like it, sweetheart! The whole thing is just for you." Alhaitham squealed from the happiness that he felt at the moment. "Thank you so much, grandma!!" Alhaitham grinned, taking more and more spoonfuls, eating as fast as he can while savoring the flavor at the same time.

"Alright now, don't eat too fast, my child." Alhaitham laughed and nodded, eating slower as she spoke. The way the sweet flavors tasted all over his tongue felt so amazing.

His grandma was such an amazing baker, and he hoped that he would always remember this taste, even after he grew old and according to his grandma after "He married a wonderful woman and started a family with her"! Which, if he were honest, he would disagree with entirely.

But at the moment, all he wanted to think about was the sweetness of this amazing dessert he was eating.

~End of flashback~
"This tastes so.. amazing, Kaveh! You're the best!" Alhaitham exclaimed happily, wrapping his arms around him. He couldn't be happier at the moment. "I love you so much, my love. You deserve this!" Kaveh laughed, hugging Alhaitham so affectionately that Alhaitham could've fallen asleep.

The rest of the date was spent with eating, drinking, and laughing, kisses, and sweet gestures until it sadly had to come to an end. As they began to go back home, Kaveh intertwined his fingers with Alhaitham's. "Hayi.. I love you." Kaveh whispered as he took in how beautiful his boyfriend looked bathed in the moonlight.

"I love you too, Kaveh." The scribe returned the words, his tone so soft that only Kaveh could hear it. "I want to make Ila Flottante more now.. you looked so happy eating it." Kaveh giggled giving his lover a kiss on the forehead. Alhaitham laughed and kisses his boyfriend's forehead too. "I would love that. Your baking is even better than my grandma's, I would say." Kaveh began to rub Alhaitham's knuckles gently with his thumb, knowing that the topic of his grandma was a hard topic for him.

"I'll make it for you again in a bit, ok? Once we get home, I'll make us something warm and sweet to drink." Kaveh continued, his voice gentle and sweet. Alhaitham smiled at the thought of cuddling up with Kaveh on the couch, and drink something warm with him. "Ok.. then I'll make breakfast for us tomorrow." Alhaitham said softly, warming up to the touch of his boyfriend.

"Alright.." Kaveh replied as he smiled at him. Alhaitham returned that sweet smile that was woven on his boyfriend's face. The both of them couldn't even believe that finally, after all of these years, they were together. They were dating. Both of them returned each other's feelings, and loved each other so much. And they both quietly went home together, appreciating the warmth that was shared between them. They were made for each other.
