Nobody's POV:
Kaveh put aside his quill for a minute. For some reason, his mind had wandered to his mother. He had many memories of her, of course. But he did certainly miss his mother. He hated the way he wanted to introduce Alhaitham to her, but couldn't. I mean, he can't just go to Fontaine and find his mom and say "Hey mom, guess what?! I have a fiancé now, and his name is Alhaitham! Remember when I told you I had the biggest crush on him?" Especially not after all of these years. He sighed, and ran his fingers through his silky blonde hair. Alhaitham still wasn't home. He was scheduled to come home 30 minutes from now. The architect couldn't wait for his fiancé to return home to him. Kaveh instantly smiled as he thought of the scribe. He had gorgeous gray and green hair, and beautiful emerald green eyes with ruby red pupils, and soft porcelain-like skin, and a bright smile.
Even though his fiancé was really quiet and cold most of the time, Kaveh couldn't help but feel at ease around Alhaitham. For some reason, his mind took him back to this one memory as he gazed down at his ring.
~Flashback~
Faranak and young Kaveh laughed together as they gazed out at the stars together. Looking out at the stars together had always been one of their favorite hobbies together. Tracing out constellations and just sitting together in the cold relaxing night was nice."Mommy, look! Those stars together looked like a crab!" Kaveh laughed as he pointed out the way the shape was with his fingers. Faranak burst into laughter as she noticed the way those stars were shaped together.
"You're right, honey! Oh, look at those stars! It looks like a small cloud, don't you think?" Faranak smiled softly at her son. Kaveh nodded, a smile painted on his face. Faranak took the moment to just think about her child for a moment. Her child was so intelligent at such a young age, and always had this smile on his face. She hoped he would never lose that smile.
"Ooo! And those stars kinda form a ring if you tilt your head a little!" Kaveh yelled out in excitement as he tilted his head, as if to demonstrate how he saw it. Faranak tilted her head to the side. Personally, she couldn't see the resemblance, but she wasn't going to tell her sweet child that. "That ring almost looks like a wedding ring, like the one you have, mommy!" Kaveh said outlining its shape. Now Faranak could see the resemblance.
She giggled. "I hope one day, when you find a beautiful woman to love, you give her a ring as beautiful as that one." Kaveh laughed. "Mommy, do you believe in soulmates? You seem pretty passionate whenever you talk about love, soo..." Kaveh questioned his mother with a puzzled expression on his face.
Faranak chuckled as she petted her son's hair. "I do. A soulmate is like an angel sent down from celestia to take care of you, who'll love you unconditionally, and who you will love more than anyone. I certainly hope you will find yours in the future." Faranak said as she pulled her son a bit closer to shield him from the increasing cold of the outside.
"Actually.. mommy.. I think there's this boy who I.. really like.. and I don't know if it's ok or not because he's a boy, and I'm also a boy.." Kaveh mumbled as he looked away from his mother. Kaveh was only 8 years old. Faranak smiled. "As long as he loves you too, it is alright. I suppose you should consider giving him that beautiful ring." Faranak said as she pointed to the stars that formed the ring shape sweetly.
"What's his name, sweetie?" Faranak asked as she turned her gaze to her young son. "Alhaitham!" Kaveh replied with a laugh. Faranak continued, "Huh, that boy who you said was the new student a few months ago?" Kaveh nodded with a sweet smile on his face. "That's wonderful, sweetheart." Faranak petted her son's head again, as if to show him reassurance for him liking another boy. It didn't change her love for him at all. She would support her son, and she knew her husband would to.
