Joshua Hong sat quietly in his family's lavish living room, the weight of his father's decision pressing heavily on his shoulders. The son of one of the most powerful mafia families in South Korea, he had always felt out of place in the dark, violent world his parents controlled. His best friend, Seungkwan, who was appointed to protect him, sat next to him, offering silent support.
"Are you okay?" Seungkwan asked softly.
Joshua shook his head. "I don't want to marry a mafia boss, Seungkwan. I don't want any part of this life."
Seungkwan sighed. "I know, Josh. But your Father believe this alliance with the Kim family will secure our position. Mingyu is... intimidating, but maybe he's not as bad as he seems."
Joshua's anxiety only grew as the wedding day approached. He knew nothing about Kim Mingyu, the notorious mafia boss who would become his husband. The wedding was a grand, opulent affair, attended by both families' allies. As Joshua walked down the aisle, his eyes met Mingyu's for the first time. The tall, muscular man with a stern expression exuded an aura of power and danger.
The ceremony was a blur, and before Joshua knew it, he was living in Mingyu's mansion. At first, their interactions were formal and distant. Mingyu was always busy with mafia affairs, and Joshua tried to avoid the violence that surrounded them. But slowly, day by day, they began to understand each other. Joshua's gentle nature started to soften Mingyu's hardened exterior.
One evening, after a particularly stressful day, Mingyu found Joshua in the garden, watering his plants. They talked for hours, sharing their hopes and fears. Joshua got to know Mingyu more and Mingyu, in turn, discovered the warmth and kindness within Joshua, a stark contrast to the harshness of their world.
Their interactions evolved from formal exchanges to genuine conversations, filled with laughter, shared interests, and even occasional arguments that only served to deepen their connection. Joshua learned about Mingyu's past, and Mingyu, in turn, listened to Joshua's dreams and aspirations.
Despite the challenges and dangers that surrounded them, their bond grew stronger with each passing day. They found solace in each other's arms, a refuge from the chaos of their reality. Mingyu, who once saw marriage as a strategic alliance, found himself falling for Joshua's gentle spirit and unwavering support.Joshua, too, discovered a love he never thought possible within the confines of his family's legacy.
Their bond deepened, and they fell in love. Mingyu's fierce loyalty and protectiveness made Joshua feel safe, and Joshua's kindness and innocence brought light into Mingyu's dark world. Seungkwan, always nearby, was happy to see his friend smiling more and more each day.
Joshua and Mingyu had chosen a little café tucked away in a quiet corner of the city for their date, seeking a brief respite from the chaos of their lives. The café, adorned with fairy lights and filled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, provided a serene backdrop for their time together.
As they sat across from each other, sipping their drinks and lost in conversation, a sudden commotion outside shattered the peaceful atmosphere. Mingyu's trained instincts immediately kicked in, his senses heightened as he recognized the signs of an threat.
Before they could react, the café was besieged by members of a rival gang, their faces obscured by masks as they brandished weapons, intent on causing chaos. Panic ensued as people scrambled for safety, Mingyu instinctively shielding Joshua from harm.
In the chaos that ensued, Joshua was separated from Mingyu, his hand slipping from Mingyu's grasp amidst the flurry of activity. Before Mingyu could reach him, Joshua was forcefully dragged away by the assailants, his cries for help drowned out by the sounds of violence.
Mingyu fought desperately against overwhelming odds, his sole focus on finding and rescuing Joshua from the clutches of their enemies. Despite his best efforts, the assailants managed to evade capture, disappearing into the night with Joshua.
As Mingyu emerged from the chaos, his heart heavy with fear and desperation, he vowed to stop at nothing to bring Joshua back safely, his determination fueled by the love he held for his husband.
The rival gang, having killed both Joshua's father and Mingyu's parents, planned to use Joshua as bait to destroy Mingyu.
Joshua was tied up in a dark, damp warehouse, his heart pounding with fear. The rival gang leader sneered at him, a cruel smile on his face. "We're going to kill you, pretty boy. Make sure Mingyu knows pain."
They tortured Joshua, trying to break him, but he held onto the hope that Mingyu would come for him. When Mingyu finally stormed the warehouse with his men, a fierce battle ensued. In the chaos, the gang set off explosives, intending to bury Joshua and everyone else in the rubble. Mingyu fought desperately to reach Joshua, but the explosion knocked him back, and he saw the building collapse, believing Joshua was dead.
Devastated, Mingyu withdrew into himself. His first love was gone, and nothing could fill the void. His friends tried to comfort him, but the pain was too deep. Seungkwan was heartbroken, mourning his best friend.
