It had been an intense day at the company. The Seventeen members had spent hours rehearsing a particularly challenging dance routine, and while most of them had eventually found their rhythm, Joshua struggled more than usual. He was always a perfectionist, especially when it came to performing, and today, his frustration had reached its peak. Despite his boyfriends constant reassurances and gentle encouragements, Joshua couldn't help but feel like he was falling short. His usual grace seemed elusive, and every mistake he made only intensified the pressure he was putting on himself.
"Don't be so hard on yourself, Shua hyung, Jun had said during one of their breaks, his voice filled with concern as he draped an arm around Joshua's shoulders.
Jeonghan had chimed in as well, playfully ruffling Joshua's hair to lighten the mood. "Yeah, it's okay to mess up sometimes. We all do."
Wonwoo, ever the quiet observer, had simply squeezed Joshua's hand, his eyes conveying all the understanding and support that words couldn't express.
But despite their efforts, Joshua couldn't shake off the weight of his own expectations. He pushed himself through every run of the routine, determined to get it right, even though his body was screaming for rest.
When they finally returned to their dorm, everyone was thoroughly exhausted. The group dispersed into various corners of the dorm, some heading straight for the shower, others collapsing into their beds. Joshua, however, found himself drawn to the couch in the living room. It wasn't the most comfortable spot, but he liked how it was the heart of their shared home, where they had spent countless nights talking, laughing, and just being together.
He dropped onto the couch, intending to rest for just a few minutes before joining the others in their room. But as soon as his head hit the cushion, the exhaustion overwhelmed him, and within moments, he was fast asleep.
Joshua's nap didn't go unnoticed for long. Seungkwan was the first to pass by, intending to grab a snack from the kitchen. He paused when he saw Joshua, curled up on the couch, his features soft and relaxed in sleep. A small smile tugged at Seungkwan's lips. Despite how hard Joshua could be on himself, there was something undeniably gentle and endearing about him that made Seungkwan want to protect him.
Instead of continuing to the kitchen, Seungkwan quietly approached the couch. He debated waking Joshua up to suggest moving to bed, but the peaceful expression on Joshua's face made him reconsider. Instead, Seungkwan carefully lifted Joshua's legs and slid underneath them, settling in at the other end of the couch. He picked up the remote and lowered the volume on the TV, content to stay there for a while.
One by one, the other members began to notice the scene unfolding in the living room. Vernon was next, passing through on his way to the bathroom. He grinned when he saw Seungkwan stretched out with Joshua's legs in his lap. Not wanting to be left out, Vernon quickly found a spot on the floor by the couch, leaning his back against it as he scrolled through his phone.
Hoshi appeared shortly after, a towel draped over his shoulders. He had just finished his shower and when he spotted the growing group. With a mischievous glint in his eyes, he flopped down on the other side of the couch, positioning himself close to Joshua's torso. He wrapped an arm loosely around Joshua's waist, careful not to wake him, and closed his eyes, planning to just rest for a moment.
But soon enough, the warmth and comfort of being near Joshua pulled him into a light sleep.
As time passed, more and more of the members gravitated toward the living room. DK, always up for a cuddle, immediately joined the pile when he saw the others. He squeezed himself in between Hoshi and Seungkwan, laughing quietly as he tried to find the perfect spot without disturbing Joshua.
Minghao and Mingyu entered the room together, having checked on Joshua earlier. Seeing their boyfriends surrounded by the others, they exchanged amused looks before deciding to join in. Minghao found a place on the floor next to Vernon, leaning his head against the couch, while Mingyu carefully slid in behind Joshua, wrapping an arm protectively around his waist from the other side.
Jeonghan was one of the last to join. He had been in the kitchen, making tea for himself and Joshua, when he noticed the living room had turned into a full-blown cuddle pile. With a soft chuckle, Jeonghan placed the cups down and quietly made his way over, settling himself near Joshua's head. He gently stroked Joshua's hair, soothing any remaining tension from the long day.
Scoups, the leader and often the last one to sleep, couldn't resist the sight of all his members, especially Joshua, so content and relaxed. He found a spot near the arm of the couch, completing the circle of warmth around Joshua.
Later after sometime the members began to realize that while it was heartwarming to cuddle up together, the couch wasn't the most comfortable place for such a big group to sleep.
Seungcheol, ever the responsible leader, quietly suggested they make things more comfortable. Chan and Vernon quickly agreed, and they began gathering all the pillows, blankets from their rooms. Hoshi, Woozi and DK helped set everything up, arranging the mattress on the floor of the living room to create a large, soft space that would comfortably fit all of them.
Once everything was laid out, they gently lifted Joshua, who was still asleep, from the couch. Mingyu carefully carried Joshua to the newly made bed, placing him right in the middle of the pile of pillows and blankets. Joshua instinctively curled up, nestling into the softness around him.
With Joshua settled, the rest of the members quickly joined him, eager to continue their cuddle pile in a more comfortable setting. Jeonghan made sure to tuck a warm blanket around Joshua before finding his spot close by. Chan, always one for comfort, grabbed a few extra pillows and made sure that joshua fell safe and secure.
As the members gathered around Joshua, their affection was palpable. Each one took a moment to gently kiss Joshua on his forehead or cheeks, their soft touches filled with love and warmth.
Wonwoo and Scoups found places on either side of Joshua, their hands gently resting on him, providing a protective warmth. Woozi positioned himself near the foot of the makeshift bed, his hand resting on Joshua's leg, a subtle but reassuring touch.
One by one, they all settled down, wrapping themselves in the shared warmth of the blankets and each other. The room was filled with the soft sounds of breathing, an occasional sigh, and the rustle of fabric as they adjusted to find the perfect spot.
In this cocoon of warmth and comfort, Joshua remained peacefully asleep, surrounded by the love and care of his boyfriends. The living room, now transformed into a cozy nest, was the perfect place for them to rest together after a long, exhausting day. With Joshua at the heart of it all, they drifted off to sleep, their hearts full of affection for the person who unknowingly brought them all together in this tender moment.
It was sometime in the middle of the night when Joshua stirred. He blinked sleepily, disoriented at first by the unfamiliar sensation of being surrounded. But as his eyes adjusted to the dim light, he realized what had happened. His heart swelled with emotion as he took in the sight of all the members, all nestled close to him.
For a moment, Joshua just lay there, soaking in the warmth and love that surrounded him. He felt an overwhelming sense of peace wash over him, all the self-doubt and stress from earlier in the day melting away. Here, in this moment, he was reminded of how much he was loved and cherished by the people who mattered most.
With a soft smile on his lips, Joshua closed his eyes again. The gentle rise and fall of his boyfriends' and members' breaths lulled him back to sleep, and this time, his sleep was deep, filled only with the comfort of knowing that he was exactly where he was meant to be.
