Zuri sprinted off towards our direction. My uncle bended down to her height and had his arms wide open ready to embrace his one and only daughter. However a bit of air was knocked out of me when I felt her little body collided with mine. I giggle a bit and roughly play with her hair.

"Bask in my glory!" She yelled out to me slightly outta breath and all sweaty.

"Properly thank (Y/n) and her friend for taking the time to watch you play." Her mother chides in.

I can hear Randy snickering under his breath besides me towards my uncle's sulking.

"What's so damn funny punk?" My uncle seethes in annoyance

"Language!" Nevaeh immediately reprimands him.

"You played so well Zuri! You'll get in the leagues soon I'm sure!" I encouraged. I was slightly surprised by Zuri's actions. Her dad had just appeared and without hesitation she just ran passed him and into my arms instead.

Zuri then looks up and stares at Randy beside me. He notices and smiles down at her while doing a gentle wave.

"Is that your boyfriend?"

I jumped and blushed.

"H-He's not my boyfriend!" I instantly corrected her not wanting there to be a miscommunication. Thankfully Randy stepped up and introduced himself.

"The name's Randy and I'm just... a really good friend." He trails off at the last part of the sentence and looks over at me. I look back with a smile before quickly looking back at Zuri so he doesn't see me blushing. Zuri let's go and looks between the two of us she opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted.

"Hmph could've fooled me." My uncle responded with a teasing smirk.

"I'm not the one who should be questioned right now if I recall." I barked at him. He rolls his eyes and sighs.

"Alright fine." He says with an annoyed huff.

"I'll have to explain everything later this was only supposed to be a quick stop. How bout next weekend?" He asks. I nod and then hold Randy's hand. He quickly and naturally wrapped his fingers with mine.

"Plus I have my own explaining to do. Now that you've outed me as a runaway to my friend and all." I added a glare at the end.
Zuri noticed the interaction between us and was confused.

"Explain what? What happened?" Zuri steps back more and turns to look at her dad.

_(Y/n) House_
~Randy POV~
*Saturday 2:00 PM*

517.

That was the number plastered on the door in front of me. The walk to (Y/n)'s house was an interesting one. She explained to me a little bit more about her home life and why she ran away but I could still tell she was holding back on what she was telling me.

Who was I to pry during that.

The door swung open and I noticed the shoes she had near the front door as she began to take hers off. I followed and took mines off too.

"I cleaned up a bit considering I knew you'd be coming after the game to hang. Hope the place is to your liking... despite how small it is." She smiles nervously and I rolled my eyes.

"It may be small but it's impressive ya know I certainly don't have my own place." I said while looking around the kitchen and stepping towards the couch that's placed in front of her bed. She sat down on the couch and patted the space next to her for me to sit. I went next to her and sat down. She smiled at what I said but I can tell she was putting that up for show. She turned her head a bit to the side too nervous to make eye contact with me.
