_Norrisville High_
~(Y/n) POV~
* 8:39 AM*"Now (Y/n), can you please give me a sentence within your terms an -ing in it?" Senora Jorge asked. I paused and thought.
'Well shit, I'm not too good in this department.'
'Repeat after me.'
'Alright, I got this!'
'Me rebelo contra una organización innoble e inhumana-'
"Me rebelo contra una organización innoble e inhumana-" I repeated back with confidence.
'que hace que centenares de millones de seres humanos se estén literalmente muriendo de hambre para enriquecer a una minoría!'
"que hace que centenares de millones de seres humanos se estén literalmente muriendo de hambre para enriquecer a una minoría!" I repeated back. There was silence first, with shock written on her face before it morphed into excitement.
"Esa fue una hermosa declaración!" She happily shouted out with joy glimmering in her eyes. Howard looked over at me with a quirked brow from my left.
"S-si, gracias." I stuttered out.
'W-what did we tell her?'
'We told her I protest against an ignoble and inhuman organization which literally condemns hundreds of millions of human beings to a wretched death to enrich a minority.'
'Ah. Reminds me of our clan.' I thought bitterly. Senora Jorge continues class with much more passion, still in euphoria with my declaration. Debbie Kang, that's sitting diagonally from me right behind Howard, stuck out her fist towards me. I didn't leave her hanging and gave her a fist pump.
"wow, eso es impresionante." She said, her voice filled with approval. I thanked her for understanding what she meant with what little Spanish that I understood. Jake in front of me turned back and gave me a thumbs-up as if saying "good job," followed by a wink. The brownie points that I got from everyone definitely gave me a boost in my self-esteem. I looked at the seat beside Jake's and in front of Howard's to find it still empty. I turned my head to the seat behind me, and that was empty too. Both Randy and Danny were late to class. Although I have some idea formed as to why Randy's late-
As much as my assumptions about that make my stomach churn.
I had no idea why Danny was late. Despite him seemingly being the most responsible out of us, he tended to come to class late. The teachers seemed not to mind, though, thanks to his grades making up for his lack of attendance. I never really imagined Danny as someone who skipped class just to do so. I've always wanted to ask what he was doing, but I'm the last person in this room who needs to be nosy in other people's business, considering my closet is cluttered with them. I tried to distract myself from the thoughts plaguing my mind on where Danny was and what Randy was doing with the girl who was looking for him and obviously had a thing for him. I'm just a new friend in the group; their business is none of mine. I thought that made me feel... isolated. I mean, it's a good thing, though.
I shouldn't get too close to them, not while I was (H/n). I came here to restart my life and to get away from my clan, but even so, I felt more like a Psych Eater than a girl running from her past life to find a better one. I shoved myself into these people's lives, and I put on a mask around them to hide the truth. Hell, I needed to shove a mask on my face to fight, one that's not even mine. My eyes cast downwards to my Woden desk, and I let out a sigh. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I look over to see Howard.
