*They finish their breakfast and clean up the kitchen before heading out to start their respective days. During his lunch break (he's with the others), Tim receives a call from Tamara.*
Phone call
Tim- Hello?
Tamara- Hey, Tim. I was wondering if you're still up for going to the gym together after work?
Tim- Yeah, sure! I'm definitely still in. Have you changed your mind?
Tamara- No, I just wanted to ask if you could pick me up, so we could drive together
Tim- Sure, I'll be at yours at around 6.30PM
Tamara- Great! Looking forward to it. See you later.
Tim- See you.
*Tim hangs up*
Aaron- what was that about?
Tim- none of your business
Nyla- (to Aaron) good luck riding with him for the rest of the day (laughing)
Angela- (to Aaron) If i were you I would just stay out of it.
Aaron- I got it
*They finish lunch and head back to their shops. The others already got up, Tim and Angela where still at the table*
Angela- Why are you so impulsive?
Tim- I'm not
Angela- Tim, come on. You know what I mean.
Tim- Yeah, maybe. But it's not like Aaron needs to know every detail of my plans.
Angela- True, but you could've told him that in a nicer way
Tim- I don't care, he's my boot
Angela- Tim!
Tim- okay you're right. I'll do better next time
*the time passes quickly and Tim arrives at Lucy's apartment building and sends a text to Tamara informing her that he's there, but receives no response. Deciding to go up and get her, he heads to her apartment. He knocks on the door*
Tamara- come in!
*Tim walks in and waits in for her in the living room. After a few moments, Tamara emerges from her room.*
Tamara- Sorry, I was finishing up something.
Tim- No problem, Tam. Is everything alright?
Tamara- yes everything is fine
Tim- Alright, if you say so. Ready to head out?
Tamara- Yeah, let's go.
*They make their way to the gym and train. Tamara spots him first and then it's her turn. They finish their training*
Tamara- are you up for a challenge?
Tim- yeah, if your ready to lose
Tamara- okay, hop on the treadmill, whoever can run a longer distance in 15 minutes wins
Tim- are you sure?
Tamara- yes, and the looser has to...
Tim- has to....(Tamara cuts him off)
Tamara- no, if I win, we're going to the bookstore and you buy me whatever and as many books as I want
Tim- and if I win, you're going to clean my house. There really needs a deep clean to be done.
Tamara- deal
Tim- deal
*They shake hands and tamara steps confidently onto the treadmill, with Tim following suit beside her. As they begin their run, Tamara picks up her pace, displaying impressive endurance and determination. Despite Tim's efforts to keep up, Tamara gradually pulls ahead, steadily increasing the distance between them. With just a few minutes left on the clock, it becomes clear that Tamara is in the lead.*
Tamara- Feeling the burn yet, Tim?
Tim- chuckles Not yet, but you're definitely putting up a good fight.
*As the timer approaches the end of the 15-minute mark, Tamara finishes strong, having covered a significant distance. Tim, while valiant in his efforts, falls short of matching her pace. As the treadmills slow to a stop, Tamara looks over at Tim with a triumphant grin.*
Tamara- Looks like victory is mine.
Tim- how? I go for a run every morning and you..you just crush me like that.
Tamara- It's a secret
Tim- common, I've already lost. You can tell me now because I won't compete with you again
Tamara- I go for a run every evening, helps to release stress and I can focus better on my homework and assignments afterwords.
Tim- (annoyed)alright, when are we going to the bookstore?
Tamara- Tomorrow
Tim- So, tomorrow it is. I'll make sure to clear my schedule.
*Tim drops Tamara at hers and then drives to his place. It's the next day and when Tim checked his phone after his morning run he sees a text from Tamara, where she teasingly reminds him that they are going to do some book-shopping today. Tim smiles as he reads Tamara's text. After freshening up and grabbing a quick breakfast, he heads to the station. Most of the day is filled with paperwork and nothing to exciting happens, accept getting shot at when he got called to a jewelry store that got robbed. Later on the day feels a dull ache in his upper arm and shoulder region and realizes the bullet grazed him, so he endet up going to the hospital.*
Angela- (she went with him) how are you?
Tim- good, I don't know why I'm even here, it's nothing
Angela- It's protocol
Tim- I know....
*It's silent for a while (They are in an examination room and waiting for the doctor there because they are still on duty.) Tim is laying on the bed thing and is just starting at the ceiling*
Angela- How's Lucy?
Tim- Lucy's... (pauses, a hint of sadness in his voice) Lucy's doing well. She has two and a half months of training left.
Angela- It must be tough being apart for so long.
Tim- Yeah, it is. But we make it work.
Angela- Well, if you ever need anything, you know I'm here for you.
Tim- (murmuring to him self) there is nothing you could do...
Angela- what was that?
Tim- I'm just frustrated, Ang.
*The doctor walks in and examines Tim, checking his wound carefully.*
Doc- Alright, Mr. Bradford, it looks like you've had a close call. Fortunately, it seems like the bullet only grazed you. We'll need to clean and dress the wound properly to prevent any infection.
Tim- no stitches?
Doc- only a few, I think four or maybe five should do it.
Tim- Alright
*After the doctor finishes tending Tim's wound, Tim is relieved to be cleared to leave the hospital. He. spends the rest of his shift in his office, doing paperwork. After work Tim goes to the locker room and takes a quick shower before getting dressed and heading to the front desk, where Tamara is waiting for him so he can pay his bet debit to her*
Tim- ready to go
Tamara- yes
*They leave the station and go to the bookstore. At the bookstore, Tamara excitedly browses through the shelves, selecting various books that catch her interest. Tim watches with amusement as Tamara gathers an armful of books.*
Tim- Are you planning to read all of those?
Tamara- yes, it will take some time but yes
*They continue exploring the bookstore, with Tamara occasionally adding more books to her pile. Eventually, they make their way to the checkout counter.*
Tim- You sure you got enough there?
Tamara- Never enough books! But I think that's enough for now.
*After paying for the books, they exit the store, Tim carrying two bags filled with Tamara's new acquisitions.*
Tim- (walking to his truck) Why am I stuck carrying all your stuff?
Tamara- Because you lost the bet, remember?
Tim- No, you never said I have to carry your stuff.
Tamara- Well, consider it a gentlemanly gesture. And besides, you've got the muscles for it.
Tim- Yeah, lucky me... (grinning)
*They arrive at his car, and he drives Tamara to her place before heading home. The next few days pass swiftly.  He spends some time with his friends while Tamara is on her weekend trip because he doesn't want to be alone. A few more days pass and it's Lucy's birthday. He sends her, as usual, a good morning text and can't wait to FaceTime her after work. Throughout the day, Tim's mind wanders to thoughts of Lucy, and he looks forward to be her special day with her, even if they're miles apart. As Tim wraps up his workday, he can't shake the excitement off. He heads home, eager to connect with her. Once settled in his room, he dials her number and waits anxiously for her to answer. After a few rings, Lucy's face appears on the screen, her smile lighting up the room.
Lucy- Hey, babe How was your day?
Tim- Hey, Sunshine. It was good, but you know, just counting down the minutes until I could talk to you.
Lucy- Aw, you're sweet. I've been looking forward to this all day too.
Tim- So, how was your night out with your friends? Did you have fun?
Lucy- Oh, it was great! We had a blast catching up
Tim- That sounds like a good time.
*They talk for a while and then there is a knock on Lucys door. It's one of Lucys friends at UC-Academy, Tim contacted to help him with his birthday present for her (only giving it to her)*
Lucy- Hold on babe, there's someone at the door. I'll be right back.
Tim- No problem, take your time.
*Lucy steps away from the screen. After a few moments, Lucy returns, package and a letter in her hands.
Lucy- What's this?
Tim- It's your birthday present. Open it!
*Lucy hesitates for a moment, glancing at the letter in her hands before unfolding it carefully. She begins to read aloud, her voice filled with emotion.*
Lucy- "Dear Lucy, on this special day, I wanted to express my love and appreciation for you in a tangible way. You bring light and joy into my life every single day, and I am endlessly grateful to have you by my side. Though we may be miles apart, know that my love for you knows no bounds. Happy birthday, Sunshine. With all my love, Tim."
*As Lucy finishes reading the heartfelt message, tears glisten in her eyes, touched by Tim's words.*
Tim- Don't cry, Sunshine. I wish I could be there to hold you close and wipe away those tears myself.
*Lucy sniffles, managing a small smile through her tears as she looks into the screen.*
Lucy- I know
Tim- why don't you open the package?
*Lucy nods, blinking away her tears as she sets the letter aside and eagerly begins to unwrap the package. Inside, she finds a beautifully wrapped gifts a small card attached on every present. She reads the card before unpacking the first present.
With a smile, Lucy sets the card aside and proceeds to unwrap the first present.
As Lucy unwraps the first present and discovers the beautifully bound journal filled with their memories, her eyes widen in astonishment. She gently runs her fingers over the cover, tracing the intricate details.*
Lucy: Tim... This is.. so sweet
*She opens the rest of the presents and the last one is one of his hoodies. She holds it up, inhaling deeply to catch the familiar scent of Tim.*
Lucy- I love it
Tim- (smiling) I assumed you'd like the other stuff more than that hoodies but I'm glad you like it.
Lucy- It's my favorite because it smells like you
Tim- It's yours now.
Lucy- (grinning) you do know that all of your clothes are mine. I just couldn't take them with me
Tim- (laughs) I guess you're right. But now you have one more to add to your collection.
Lucy- And I love it. Thank you, Tim.
Tim- You're welcome, Lucy. I'm glad you like your presents.
Lucy- I love them all, especially the journal. It's such a thoughtful gift.
Tim- I'm glad you think so. I wanted to give you something that would remind you of all the wonderful moments we've shared together.
Lucy- Well, you've definitely succeeded. Thank you again.
Tim- Anything for you, Sunshine.
*They share a tender moment, their hearts filled with love and gratitude for each other. Their conversation continues, filled with laughter and love, as they cherish each moment together until they fall asleep. A few more days pass and it's Tuesday. Tim is meeting Tamara and Noah for lunch that day. At lunch he picks them up at school and they drove off to a restaurant, where they sit down and order their food.*
Tamara- (a little excited) So, Tim, did Lucy like the birthday present?
Tim- I think so, yeah. It wasn't anything special but she seemed really touched by them, especially the journal that I have made.
Tamara- you never mentioned a journal
Tim- Well, it was something I put together with all our memories, photos, and little notes. I wanted to give her something that would remind her of our time together, especially since we've been apart for such a long time.
Tamara- That's incredibly thoughtful, Tim. I'm sure she loved it. But why didn't you tell me?
Tim- It's something personal and I didn't want to share that with you
Tamara-(grinning) you know she's going to show it to me when she's back, right?
Tim- she won't
Tamara- We'll see
*Noah, sensing the banter, interjects with a chuckle.*
Noah- Well, it sounds like you put a lot of effort into it, Tim. Lucy's lucky to have you.
Tim- Thanks
Tamara- so, any plans for Friday?
Tim- No
Tamara- common, it's your birthday you can't just do nothing
Tim- I can
Noah- Tam's right, Tim. You gotta do something.
Tim- okay, I'll go out with some friends.
Tamara- Better, but not good enough.
Tim- Don't exaggerate.
Tamara- Okay, okay, it's fine. I can drive you. I'll make sure you have a good time.
* As their lunch break draws to a close, they finish their meals and head back to school and work. Tim drops Tamara and Noah off first at the school, then, he drives back to the station.*
