DOVE 🕊

As I sat in class, my mind wandered back to the previous night's encounter with Xavier. His touch still lingered on my skin, leaving a trail of desire that I couldn't shake. It was as if he had cast a spell over me, one that I couldn't break free from. My thoughts were consumed by the memory of his hands on my body, the way he seemed to know exactly how to make me tremble with pleasure.

"Ms. Skye?" Mr. Axel's voice broke through my reverie, his tone laced with amusement. I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as I took in the sight of him standing before me, my paper held tantalizingly in his hand. "You seem to be a thousand miles away," he teased, his eyes glinting with a knowing light.

I forced a laugh, trying to play off my distraction. "Just lost in thought, sir," I replied, my gaze drifting away from his, unable to meet his piercing stare. There was something about Mr. Axel that made me uneasy, a sense of discomfort that I couldn't quite explain.

"I gazed down at my paper, the B+ staring back at me with a mix of relief and disappointment. It wasn't the grade I had hoped for, but I hadn't exactly been expecting an A either. I shrugged, stuffing the paper into my bag, and wondered if Xavier would be free to help me go over it later. His schedule was always packed, but I knew he'd make time for me if I asked.

Just then, Mr. Axel's clapping pierced the air, demanding our attention. "Alright, class... let's face it, you all bombed this test," he announced, his tone dripping with disappointment. But then, his gaze landed on me, and a hint of a smile played on his lips. "However, Dove here managed to shine. Congratulations, you're now our math class representative."

I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as I blinked in disbelief. Hadn't someone else gotten an A? I distinctly remembered hearing a whispered celebration from the back of the room. His eyes seemed to gleam with a knowing light, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. "Meet me in my office for further instructions," he said, his voice dripping with an air of superiority, before he gathered his things and sauntered out of the room, leaving me with more questions than answers.

...

As I walked to the staff room, I ran into Tristan. His "Hi" hung in the air, and I waved back, feeling a bit uneasy. The tension between him and Xavier made me nervous, like I was walking on eggshells.

"Hi, Tristan," I said, trying to sound calm. "How are you?" He smiled and replied, "I'm good." But the silence that followed felt heavy, like we were both waiting for something to happen.

I broke the silence, saying, "I'm headed to the staff room." Tristan offered to walk with me, and I agreed, feeling a bit relieved. I couldn't say no because it would be very rude.

As we strolled towards the administration block, Tristan's inquiry came forth, his tone tinged with fascination. "Hey, Dove, may I ask, what's the nature of your connection with Xavier? Sorry if im being nosy." I chuckled and shook my head telling him he wasn't. The question seemed to vibrate with an unspoken intensity, and I felt my cheeks flush as I searched for the right words. "He's my," i cleared my throat, "... boyfriend," I whispered, the admission feeling like a vulnerable exposure.

Tristan's eyes dilated in surprise, and he glanced around with a flicker of disbelief, as if he'd uncovered a hidden truth. "Whoa, okay... that's unexpected," he muttered, his voice tinged with astonishment. The ensuing silence was heavy with unspoken thoughts, like the air was dense with secrets. We reached the entrance to the block, and Tristan bid me farewell, his gaze still fixed on mine with a hint of wonder. "Bye, see you later."
