🎶so baby, tell me where your love lies. Waste the day and spend the night. Underneath the sunrise. Show me where your love lies🎶

In a quiet corner of Harrington College, ì found a peaceful escape. Xavier had shown mr this place and i was grateful for its seclusion. The privacy of this spot was a balm to my soul, and I reveled in its tranquility. Harrington College was vast, with secrets waiting to be unearthed, and Xavier had uncanny knack for finding them.
For two days, I had been lost in my art, the brushstrokes flowing from my heart onto the canvas. Xavier's encouragement and praise had reignited my passion, and I was now pondering the next hue to add to my masterpiece. My brush hovered, poised in mid-air, as my mind wandered through the kaleidoscope of colors.
The sudden ring of my phone broke the spell, and my eyes darted to the screen. "NANA" flashed, and my heart skipped a beat. I set my brush down, my fingers moving with a sense of urgency as I answered the call. "Nana?" I breathed, my voice barely containing the joy that had been simmering for so long. It had been far too long since we last spoke, and the warmth of her voice was a comforting embrace I had been craving.
"Sweet child," Nana cooed, her voice like a gentle breeze on a summer day, accompanied by a soft, knowing chuckle. "You missed me, I can tell." She teased, and I couldn't help but laugh, my heart swelling with affection.
"Why weren't you picking up your calls or replying to any of my texts? I was worried sick, wondering if everything was alright." I sighed, feeling a lump form in my throat, my emotions getting the better of me, as they often did.
Nana's voice was warm and reassuring as she explained, "Sorry, my love. I got caught up in some church duties and my phone got misplaced in the chaos." I could almost picture her smiling, her eyes twinkling with warmth, and my heart felt at ease once more.
"Did you find it?" I asked, my voice laced with a mix of concern and curiosity.
Nana's response was apologetic. "No, I got a new one... but I was told you needed a new phone. I'm so sorry, I'll send one right away." Her words were infused with a hint of worry, a motherly concern that warmed my heart.
But her next words left me speechless. "Are you still using it? Isn't it giving you trouble, dear?" The questions hung in the air like a challenge, and I felt my mind go blank.
I pulled my phone away from my ear, my eyes fixed on the device as if it held some hidden truth. Nana's voice broke through my trance, her tone laced with a hint of frustration. "Hello? Dove... Jesus, is her phone giving her so much trouble?"
I hesitated, unsure of how to respond. The lie slipped out before I could stop it. "Oh, hey Nana, I can hear you... you can take your time on sending a new one. It's not that bad." The words felt like a betrayal, a false reassurance that only added to my guilt.
Nana's skepticism was palpable. "But it's breaking," she insisted, her voice a gentle prod.
I forced a laugh, a weak attempt at reassurance. "I don't take that many calls, Nana. Don't worry." But the words rang hollow, a feeble attempt to hide the truth.
The conversation shifted to school work, a familiar refuge from the turmoil in my mind, "What are you using for school?" "I have my laptop with me," I said, clinging to the routine like a lifeline.
"I'll send one tomorrow," Nana insisted, her voice firm but worried.
I pressed my lips into a thin line, nodding silently as if she could see me. My mind was still reeling from the revelation that she hadn't gotten me the new phone.
