Chapter 28

Sunday morning was chill. My sister was in a really good mood and couldn't stop singing. I smiled happily. It has been a long time since I have sung too... When she turned her Xbox on with a singing game I couldn't resist and joined her. We went full on karaoke mode for over an hour. During the afternoon P'Daad went out to meet with Yoko again. I stayed home, trying to relax as I was waiting for Apo and my sons. As I was laying on the couch, my mind wandered to Charlotte. In two days we would be going out together...

E🥭 : You still won't tell me where we're going on tuesday?

I really wanted to know. It wasn't about being in control... Well maybe it was... But it was also because I wanted to be... prepared? My phone buzzed inside my hand.

C🐰 : Nope!
E🥭 : *pouts*

She didn't text me back after that. I rolled over on the couch and took a nap. The doorbell ringing woke me up. I checked my phone, it was still early... Was it Apo already? Then I heard them behind the door, Sun and Champ were there. I got up and welcomed them in.

"Mommy!!" Sun said, extending his arms to get a hug.

"Hello Sunny." I replied, picking him up.

I hugged my two sons as their father was putting their stuff away in a corner of the room. He barely said "hello" and I sensed right away that he was kind of on edge. Maybe something was going on since they came here early... The boys explored their aunt's apartment like it was the first time, until Sun found a box of wooden toys and got joined by his little brother. Since they were peacefully playing I tried to engage with Apo.

"Is there somewhere else you need to be?"

"Like where?" he replied in a condescendant voice.

"I don't know... You're here a little bit early, maybe you need to go?"

"I don't. Do YOU need to go somewhere? Did we fucked up your plans by getting here early? Are you waiting for somebody else?"

"What? No.. I..." I was shocked by his way of saying this.

"Are you seeing someone?"

I didn't answer.

"You must be. That guy is probably worthless if you don't want to talk about him."

"Apo, I'm sorry but this is none of your business. I don't have to tell you anything about my private life." I said, trying to stay calm even though he really was getting on my nerves.

"I want to know who's around my sons when they're not with me. I don't want some freak influencing them while they're growing up!" he said, raising his voice.

"You're crazy... There's no freak around our sons. Who do you think I am?"

I was getting more and more upset. I couldn't help it.... it got to me.

"I don't know! I don't know you anymore!"

"Don't yell." I said quite firmly.

"I know you're hiding something. You change, Engfa. I'll find out. Whatever it is. You know I can still talk with my lawyer and fuck you up!"

"WHAT. THE. HELL?"

I turned around and saw my sister. She had just got back home and we didn't hear her opening the door. My heart was beating so fast in my chest. I wanted to scream too. Yet I couldn't do it in front of Sun and Champ.

"Who do you think you are talking to my sister like that?" P'Daad said, looking angry as hell.

"It's ok..." I started, trying to get things back to a calmer state.

"No, it's not! Apo if you don't need anything else you can kiss your sons and get the freak out of here!"

"Yeah, right." he replied, getting up.

We watched him as he went towards the other side of the room and kneeled down to say bye to Sun and Champ. Our eldest son looked at his dad and I, trying to decipher what was going on. Nobody said anything until Apo left the apartment. The kids started playing again and I joined my sister around the kitchen counter when she gestured to me.

"How could you let him talk to you like this?" she said, lowering her voice while giving me a glass of water.

"I just didn't want to start a fight in front of the boys..." I was still kinda shocked by all of this.

"I know but damn... I hate that guy. For real. And him talking to you like this... makes me want to hit him!"

"Hey, calm down... Thanks for taking care of me. I'm ok I swear."

"I won't let him get in here again!"

I laughed.

"Don't worry, I'll find somewhere to live soon." I said.

"That's not what I meant..."

"I know... but still, we need to get you your freedom back." I said, trying to keep a straight face.

"I'm ok. I love having you guys with me. It's fun to have the boys around."

"Yeah... I missed them." I sighed.

"Me too. When are you going out again? So I can have them all to myself and do everything that's not allowed?" she teased.

"Tuesday..." I answered, squinted my eyes.

"Perfect! I hope it goes well and that Charlotte and you get married so you can rub it in his stupid ass face!"

I almost choked up on the water I was drinking. Thankfully, the end of the day went by much more smoothly. We played with the kids, had dinner, bathed them and put them to bed after a few stories and hugs. I was happy to have them back with me. I laid down in the bed feeling weirdly both full and empty. I had almost cried under the shower, not really knowing why. Apo's words really got to me... I rolled over to check my phone and read Charlotte's latest texts.

C🐰 : Hey
C🐰 : I took my son to Heidi's tonight
C🐰 : I sorta got into a fight with Mew
C🐰 : We're ok though, don't worry
C🐰 : I'm just mad, that's all
C🐰 : Hope your day went well...

Fuck men and their stupid ways... for real. I hoped our sons wouldn't end up being jerks like them... I swore to do the best I could to educate them to be respectful. I was mad to not be able to protect Charlotte... But it wasn't my place to do so... yet.

E🥭 : I'm sorry you had a rough day
E🥭 : Can I help in any way?

I felt like I should tell her what happened with Apo but I refrained myself. Her day had probably been hard enough. I knew I just needed to learn how to open up more to her... But she was prompt to have anxiety attacks and I didn't want to add to her stress. I would find a way somehow, someday.

C🐰 : Don't worry, I'll be ok..
E🥭 : Sure?
C🐰 : Maybe a hug would help...?
E🥭 : *hugs*
C🐰 : Tomorrow? Archives room?
E🥭 : Charlotte!

I giggled in bed. That girl... We talked a bit more and fell asleep. My dreams were kind of crazy. When I woke up I felt sore and a little bit dizzy. Thankfully I was tackled by 4 little arms into a heartwarming hug. We got to school and day care on time. I started my day at MOCA with the weekly team meeting. I managed to focus on the bullet points I needed to go through, even though Charlotte looked as beautiful as ever. I needed to get her alone to ask her about our date. If she had her son with her, maybe she couldn't go out with me anymore...

Around 4pm I managed to get out of my office and made my way to Charlotte's. She seemed to be alone but I asked just in case as I closed the door behind me.

"Hi... You're alone?"

"Yes. Heidi is in a meeting with Snack and Mike."

"Good." I replied, making my way with her.

Her eyes were piercing through me and it made me feel kind of hot. But I held strong. And when I reached her I gently wrapped her into a hug.

"Here." I whispered.

Charlotte sighed in my embrace and I felt warm inside.

"Is our date still on tomorrow?" I asked.

"Yes, of course! Why?"

"I thought that maybe since you had your son with you..."

"No, no, that's ok. Heidi already offered to take care of him while we got out."

"Oh... Good..." I smiled, nervously.

"I can't wait for tomorrow evening... I'll come pick you up ok?"

"Yes..."

I left Charlotte before Heidi was back in their office. I didn't want to expose ourselves too much. Still, I needed to thank Heidi and my sister for making our date possible. I got home with Sun and Champ, surprising their aunt with a bouquet of flowers. She kissed the boys until they were yelling at her to stop, lost in between laughs and tears. I knew that I would cherish these moments forever.

I texted a lot with Charlotte that night. I tried to get as much information as possible about our date but she didn't spill anything. I had absolutely no idea what she had planned. I loved being able to text her more. We were far from our coded texts from last month and it felt great. It was good to be playful, even risk being flirty too...

I managed to survive Tuesday at work and was so happy to get back home with my sons. P'Daad was playing with them while I was shuffling through my bags and suitcases searching for something to wear. It was our real first date and I was feeling really nervous. Charlotte was probably on her way to pick me up and all I did was put makeup on. I didn't know where we were going so I didn't know what outfit I could put on. I wanted to look good, not too dressed up nor not enough... I felt like a teenager one more time.

"What do you think of this?" I asked my family.

"It's black." Sun replied.

"Yeah... Is it too dark?"

"Stop worrying, you look good in almost anything!" my sister said.

"But it's not too much? I don't want to look posh..."

"Engfa! You look good in that. Don't put heels on, go for like... loafers? I have a pair if you want."

"Oh good idea! That's ok I have my own somewhere in here too. Thanks!"

I felt relieved. I swapped my knitted sweater for a white blouse and rampaged through my bags until I found my shoes. I was checking myself in the mirror when Champ started to cry. It was already late and tiredness was starting to take the best of him.

"Oh come here, baby." I said, taking him in my arms, kissing his forehead.

"I'll handle it." P'Daad said.

"No, no that's ok. We're gonna change your diaper. Ok, Champ? And put some pajamas on?" I took him to the bathroom with me, singing to appease him.

I sang for him for a while and he calmed down. Once he was in a clean diaper he was smiling again. I was done putting him inside his dinosaur pj when I heard my sister talking.

"Fa, I think your date is here! And she looks delicious!" she yelled at me.

Charlotte was here. Damn. Why would she say something like this?? I quickly kissed Champ, putting him back down with his brother.

"Fuck Daad, don't be like this!" I said, trying to get to the door, grabbing my purse on the way.

"Hey..." Charlotte said when our eyes met.

She was gorgeous.

"Sorry, this is my sister Plaifa. Don't pay attention to her, she's weird and she likes to mess with me even though she's 37!" I explained, pushing her out of my way.

"I love you too." P'Daad replied.

"Don't wait for me but call me if anything happens, ok?"

"We're going to be fine, don't worry. Go have fun! It was nice meeting you, Charlotte. Take care of my baby sis!"

And with that she finally closed the door and left us alone. Fuck.

"I'm so sorry." I said.

"Don't be."

I took a breath and focused back on our date.

"Hi." I said.

"Hi..."

"You look stunning..."

She didn't even let me finish complimenting her and kissed me straight away. I melted against her lips. I missed this so much...

"You guys are freaking cute! Now go fondle each other somewhere else!" my sister yelled through the door.

She must have been peeping on us. I would kill her later.

"Perv!" I said, banging against the door to scare her.

We went outside and a taxi was already waiting for us. As we rode across town I was half looking at Charlotte's beauty and half trying to guess where we were heading. We finally stopped in front of a charming house, where an older lady welcomed us. When she asked us to get naked, signaling the towels on a bench nearby, I opened my mouth wide.

"Are we getting a massage?"

"Yes... I figured that between work and last month we could use some selfcare..."

"Oh my god, this is such a good idea!"

I was so happy. I really needed that. Charlotte was so damn thoughtful.

The massage was so freaking good. My whole body felt like a blob and my legs were barely holding me up when it was over. We were asked to take a shower before the lady guided us to a Japanese onsen. I was astonished.

"What is this place?" I asked as I let the water submerged my body.

"They do a lot of different things. Basically rich people book this place for a few hours, to have some time off with different services provided to them. If they don't offer what you want, they'll find a way to do it if you can pay."

"When you say it like that it sounds so illegal." I laughed.

"Meena knows the owner so I think they're in the clear."

"I would have thought the opposite..."

"I ask for a massage, access to the onsen, dinner and something else..."

"Something else...?"

"You'll see."

"So are we really alone?"

"Yes, I've booked the place for 4 hours."

"Are we allowed to... you know... in here?" I asked, hoping she would get my drift.

"I guess we'll find out..."

She swimmed towards me and wrapped her arms around my shoulders. We spent a long time kissing, bodies colliding, hands roaming everywhere, fingers meeting hot wetness deep inside. We tried to muffled our moans as best as we could and to our greatest pleasure nobody came to stop us from fucking each other brains out. I couldn't imagine a day where I couldn't do this anymore.

"You. Are. Mine." I said to her, each word following a hard thrust inside of her.

"Fuck, yes!" she whimpered as her body shuddered against mine.

It felt so good to be together like this. I had no idea what she had planned for our date but now I couldn't wait for a second one. I should open up to her... If I wanted her to be mine for real.

"What is happening now?" I asked later when we found ourselves dry and in yet another room in that big old house.

Charlotte unveiled a karaoke machine and a guitar. I was beaming with joy.

"I know you like to sing. I wanted to hear more of it... Would you mind singing for me tonight?" she asked, blushing.

I got up like I had springs under my feet. I kissed her as tenderly as I could, wanting her to feel all the love I had for her. But making her feel wasn't enough. I needed to tell her. It was time to open up and let my emotions live outside.

"I love you so much. Of course, I'll sing for you. Sit down, let me serenade you, Charlotte Austin."

This was definitely the best date I had ever been to.
