"Now, we would like to invite on stage the top students: Mohammed Ahmed and Aira Khan!"

Aira's POV

I was silently watching the show and clapping for everyone, so much that my hands turned red. To be honest, I was getting bored and regretting why I came. But when the student announced my name along with Ahmed's, my eyes went wide, and I froze in my seat. My heart started to beat rapidly. I didn't know why this was happening to me whenever something involved him. I didn't like him back then, but I don't know what was happening to me.

Ahmed's POV

When I heard my name, I quickly stood up and was about to go, but then I saw Aira, completely lost in her thoughts. I went to her, and she looked at me with innocent eyes. I signaled her with my eyes to stand up and come with me. She immediately stood up at my signal, and a smirk appeared on my face. We both went to the stage together.

Author's POV

They both went to the stage and accepted their titles and gifts. The students asked if they wanted to say something on the mic. Ahmed looked at Aira softly, silently asking her with his eyes. When she looked at him, she got lost staring into his dark brown eyes. Ahmed was also looking back into her eyes. They didn't realize that the photographer captured a photo of them gazing at each other.

Aira quickly looked away, and Ahmed softly asked, "Belle, are you okay?" Aira's eyes widened when she heard him call her "belle," a name he used for her back in sixth grade. After sixth grade, their class sections had changed, and he stopped calling her that, tired of his one-sided love. Hearing it now brought back a rush of memories and emotions she thought she had long buried.

She shook her head, her innocent doe eyes wide, and went back to her seat. As the farewell party drew to a close, the teacher went to the staff room, and everyone finished eating. The whole class gathered to dance and have fun, with songs playing loudly. Aira, not into dancing or music, stood silently in the corner while Zoya enjoyed the party with the others, being the most extroverted one.

Suddenly, a group of boys decided to play some pranks before leaving school. They grabbed water bottles and started throwing water at everyone. Ahmed was with his friends, talking on the opposite side of the room from Aira. A notorious playboy from the class came up behind Aira and threw a whole bottle of cold water on her. She was startled and looked back, but the boy had already run away. Everyone stopped when they saw what had happened to Aira, knowing she was not one to engage in such antics or allow anyone to mess with her.

Ahmed noticed the commotion and saw that Aira was soaked from head to toe. Despite her wearing a white shirt under a net coat, which fortunately made nothing visible, no one dared to approach her. Ahmed, seeing her distress, took off his suit coat and walked over to her. "Go to the washroom and dry yourself," he said, handing her his coat.

Tears flowed down Aira's cheeks because no one, not even the girls, were helping her. The boy who threw the water had warned everyone not to assist her. Aira looked at Ahmed with teary yet angry red eyes and asked, "Where is Zoya?"

He glanced around and replied bluntly, "I don't know. You should go to your class or the washroom."

Ignoring his suggestion, Aira took out her phone from her bag and called Ayeza to pick her up from school. Just then, Zoya came running over and said, "I know who did this-it was John." Ahmed's expression darkened with anger, as John was one of his friends.
