AFTER 1 MONTH

Everything was passing by the same way. Aira continued to sleep in the guest room and return in the morning. Rohan had moved to Canada with his family, and Aira had become accustomed to her routine. She would talk to her mother on the phone at 5 PM, have dinner by 8 PM, and then go for a walk in the park and By 10 PM, she returns home.

At 3 PM, after taking a shower, Aira noticed Umer talking urgently on the phone. She watched him through the mirror, and got confused seeing how worried he looked. He quickly hung up the phone, grabbed some jeans and a t-shirt from the wardrobe, and went to change in the bathroom. Aira was curious because she had never seen him this worried. She didn't ask him anything, as they usually didn't interfere in each other's matters.

After finishing her skincare routine, Aira went downstairs to spend some time in the garden. Mr. Dawood had gone for Umrah, and his wife Ji-so had traveled to the USA to be with her sister, who had been in an accident and was hospitalized. It was Aira's routine to go to the garden at 3 PM and water the plants herself, as it was her hobby. She spent most of her day alone at home, since Umer was often out and she rarely visited her father's house due to his harsh behavior.

After dinner, feeling too tired to go for her usual walk in the park, Aira returned to her and Umer's bedroom. She went to the wardrobe and selected a black silk night suit, then changed into it. The smooth fabric felt comforting against her skin, providing a small sense of solace amidst the uncertainties she faced daily.

As she emerged from the bathroom, she noticed Umer still hadn't returned. The room felt unusually empty, and the silence was almost oppressive. She sat on the edge of the bed, her thoughts wandering to the worries she had seen on Umer's face earlier. Despite their strained relationship, a part of her was concerned about him.

Aira decided to distract herself by reading a book. She picked up a novel from her bedside table and tried to immerse herself in the story. However, her thoughts kept drifting back to Umer and the unusual tension she had noticed earlier.

Hours passed, and there was still no sign of Umer. Aira's worry grew, but she tried to reassure herself that he would be fine.

It was 12 am when Aira was still engrossed in her book. She noticed Umer entering the room and then she immediately stood from the bed, placing the book on the side table. She was about to leave when she saw Umer's face, which looked unusually dull and distressed. Concerned, she asked, "what happened to you? I saw you left so urgently."

Umer approached her, took her hand, and made her sit on the bed beside him. His expression was filled with sadness, which shocked Aira. She asked again, "What happened Umer? Is everything alright?"
