sighs of a lost bond

**id like to make it known that this was not inspired by anything recent**

in the quiet moments of our days, laughter used to flow,
shared secrets and dreams, a bond that seemed to grow.
everything was good, until a shadow cast its blight,
a small thing, so it seemed, that turned day into night.

tremendous heartbreak followed, a rift i couldn't mend,
i bargained with the silence, for the return of my friend.
anger flared within me, how could she just walk away,
without a trace of sorrow, leaving me in disarray.

i grieved like a lost soul, for the friendship that had died,
haunted by the echoes, of the times we stood side by side.
years have passed, yet sometimes, the old wound still aches,
a subtle, lingering pain, in the quiet moments it wakes.

the absence speaks volumes, where once words used to dwell,
in the spaces between memories, where our laughter fell.
now, it's just a whisper, a ghost of what we had,
a pure connection severed, leaving behind the sad.
