Kiara was feeling a little upset. Nathan was the only person who used to make her birthday special.
But now it seems like he forgot her birthday because it was 11:13 pm in the evening and she hasn't received any call regarding a parcel on her name. And it was her birthday tomorrow.
She even tried to remind him but he believed he hadn't forgotten anything.
She didn't want to be a burden and make him feel like he is obligated to waste his money and send her gifts so she didn't stretch the topic further.
“Kiki!” Kiara turned her head towards the direction while Amelia came running towards her with a plate in her hands.
Kiara raised her brow and asked, “What's this?”
“Oh this? Maa made Chole Kulche and told me to take some at your place so I was coming over to your place but I saw you. Let's go together?” Kiara nodded her head and they both started walking towards Mehra Mansion.
“You seem upset. What's wrong?”
Kiara chuckled sadly and shook her head.
“Nothing. Just work stress.” She shrugged it off and smiled at Amelia.
Amelia huffed and glared at her, “You think you can lie to me?”
“I'm not lying Em. Workload is affecting my mental health. Everything that happened is just way too stressful and the one person who used to make my stress disappear in seconds forgot about my birthday.”
“Then why don't you remind him? Is it Siddharth? I'll talk to him-” Kiara cut her off in between.
“No. It's not him. God knows he can hardly make my stress disappear now.” Amelia felt a bit awkward. She wanted to defend Siddarth but she knew Kiara was right.
“You know Em, before he went abroad he was the sweetest person but I don't know what changed in him. I'm not saying I want to be his priority or anything neither am I saying any of this happened because of you. I never was his priority but the civil behaviour, that chocolate boy. I don't see that in him anymore.”
Amelia opened her mouth to say that it was all because of her but she couldn't. Because she knows that Kiara will hate her for this and she doesn't wanna lose her and her friendship. It was her who told Siddarth that she is not comfortable with him having any girl best friend.
It was not because she knew about Kiara's love for Siddarth or anything but she knows that a girl and a boy can never be just friends, and if they're best friends then there's a one-hundred percent chance that one of them has feelings for the other one.
And Amelia didn't want to get her heart broken. After Nathan, it was very hard for her to move on from him. For her sake, she left him but that doesn’t mean she didn't love him.
But there are times when you have to choose yourself over another person because if you don't, it will ruin two lives.
“Oye what happened?” Kiara snapped her fingers in front of Amelia's face, pulling her out of her reverie.
“No. Nothing. I was lost in my own thoughts.” Amelia shrugged it off as if it wasn't eating her up from inside.
Kiara nodded her head and beckoned towards her home, “Let's go?”
Amelia smiled and nodded her head.
“Mumma I'm home!” Kiara yelled as they both stepped inside the house.
Soon enough Mrs. Mehra came to greet them.
“Oh Amelia, sweetheart you're also here? How are you, baby?” Mrs. Mehra greeted Amelia.
