Luz was pacing on the ceiling... still kind of surprising to her honestly. Eda had to go to the store and left Luz alone at home. She couldn't stop thinking about her powers. She heard a knock on the door and flipped down from the ceiling. She walked over to the door and opened it, seeing her aunt.
"Aunt Lily?" Luz asked, "What are you doing here? Is... Is Aunt Eda okay?"
"She's fine, in fact, I was hoping that she was here and I could talk to her." Lilith said.
"She had to go out, is something wrong?" Luz asked.
"Nothing to worry your little head about." Lilith said, patting Luz on the head, "Tell Eda that I need to speak with her when she gets back."
Lilith pulled out her radio and began talking to someone. Luz was about to close the door when she heard Lilith say Camila's name. Luz got a bit curious, but knew she couldn't go over and ask, because Lilith would tell her it was police business. Luz knew how to get around that though. Luz noticed that Lilith was parked near an alleyway, and she could easily get onto the wall, be out of sight but still hear. Luz looked around and made sure no one was looking.
'For a city with 8 million people, this part of the city is pretty empty.' Luz thought, before firing a web and swung to the wall.
She crawled up the wall and onto the roof, before climbing down the side of the wall, just above her aunt.
"It was my sister, Steve, my sister!" Lilith said, "I know we can't go after them without evidence, but we have all we need to get the guy that pulled the trigger. He's supposed to be at the construction site down on 5th tonight."
'The guy that... killed my mom... is going to be vulnerable tonight?' Luz thought, before turning and climbing back up to the roof, 'I know what I need to do.'
Luz went to her room and got her outfit on, she didn't care what Eda told her, she wanted, no, she NEEDED to get the person responsible.
'I am going to get justice for mom, nothing will stop that.' Luz thought.
She got her vigilante outfit on and opened the window. She was going to get to that construction site and get ready for him. She opened the window and ran, before jumping off the roof and web swung to the construction site. Not long after that, Eda returned home and noticed that Luz was gone.
"God damn it." Eda growled, before picking up the phone.
"Detective Lilith, how may I help you?" Lilith asked on the other end of the phone.
"Please tell me Luz is with you." Eda said.
"No, but I was at your Café less than twenty minutes ago." Lilith said, "Why?"
"Luz's window was open and some of her stuff is missing." Eda said, "Whatever you said, I need to know."
"I didn't tell her anything." Lilith said, "Unless she found a way to eavesdrop on my conversation with my partner, but how could she do that if I was a good thirty feet from her?"
'Because she can climb on walls.' Eda thought.
"Did you say anything about where she'll be?" Eda asked.
"I said that the person that killed her mother would be on the construction site on 5th." Lilith said, "Why?"
"Because if she's going to be caught in the crossfire and hurt, I need proof that you are involved before I slap you for talking about this around Luz!" Eda said, getting very mad, "I'm going to get her."
"Eda, how are you going to get down there before the police, your car isn't that great." Lilith reminded, "Honestly, I'm surprised it's still working."
"I never said I was taking the car." Eda said.
Lilith realized what she meant.
"Eda, you know-"
"No one will see me, I am NOT going to fight anyone, I'm just going to get Luz." Eda said, hanging up before Lilith could respond.
Eda ran upstairs and pulled the trunk out of her closet. She opened it and pulled out an old purple helmet.
"Hope it still fits." Eda said, before looking at the setting sun out the window, "I don't have much time."
