The police put the thug in the back of a squad car... after cutting him down.

"So you mean to tell me, that someone fired a... web... from their wrist and stopped him from hitting the ground?" Lilith asked.

"I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it." Steve said.

"And who was it?"

"Don't know, they had a mask."

Lilith was suspicious, as she didn't see Eda in there, and the only person that would do something like that is her.

"Steve, let's go, I have to go see Eda."

Lilith and Steve got into the car and drove away from the construction site. They arrived at Eda's café and Lilith gets out.

"Stay here, Steve, I need to talk to her myself."

Lilith walked in and saw Eda drinking at one of the booths. She looked up at Lilith.

"So, you come here for that slap you're owed?" Eda asked, glaring at her, "If you're here to talk about police stuff, I'd recommend you watch what you say, as I don't need to go chase after Luz again."

"That was not my fault." Lilith said, sitting at the booth and crossing her arms, "What happened Edalyn?"

"I don't know, I've been here." Eda said.

"Don't lie to me, Edalyn, you were at the construction site, the suspect was hung by their foot just a few feet above the ground." Lilith said, "The only thing I can think of that would look like what the other described it as is your grappling hook."

"You mean this one?" Eda asked, dropping her gauntlet on the table, with the grappling hook still attached to the wrist, "As you can see, it's still there."

"I know those can be replaced."

"Yeah, but look at the wear on it, this is the same one I used for years." Eda said.

Lilith looked at it, noting that the wire was damaged, meaning this was the one that's been used for a while.

'Where she finds this much Titanium wire is beyond me.' Lilith thought.

It wasn't exactly hard to find, but it was very expensive, at least the amount that Eda used was, and yet, she seemed to have an unlimited amount. Lilith looked back at Eda, who had a smirk, that god damned smirk that she has, the one when you are proven innocent despite the person thinking you're 100% guilty.

"I got to Luz before she got there, brought her here, and grounded her." Eda said, "Would you like to see the security cameras?"

Lilith glared at her, before standing.

"No, that won't be necessary." Lilith said, before walking to the door, "Tell Luz we got the person that killed Cam."

Eda smiled sadly.

"Yeah... I will."

Lilith left and Eda stood up, finishing her drink and heading upstairs. She stood in front of Luz's door and opened it, seeing Luz sitting on the bed. Eda walked over and sat down. It was silent for a minute before Luz spoke up.

"I... I wanted to kill him. I wanted him to die, to feel the pain he gave me."

"But you didn't." Eda said, "Why?"

"Because... that's not what mom would've wanted." Luz said, looking at her hands, "She would've felt such shame in me for taking a life for revenge, she would've been horrified by it. I couldn't live with something like that on my conscious. You were right, Aunt Eda, I'm not cut out to be some kind of vigilante."

Eda put an arm around Luz and pulled her close.

"Yeah, you wouldn't make a good vigilante... but... I think you'd make a Great Hero."

Luz looked up in confusion.

"What?"

"Luz, what you showed me tonight proves that no matter how much you want to get back at someone that wronged you, you will always do the right thing." Eda said, "Crime is going up, and there are thousands of people like you, people that have lost their loved ones to horrible people... you have a gift, Luz, a gift that can help you prevent that from happening to others, I can train you, teach you what I know... what do you say? Want to give it a try?"

Luz looked down for a minute, before smiling, one of the first real smiles she's had since her mom was murdered.

"When do we start?" Luz asked.

"We just did." Eda said.
