The Sky, The Grass, and a Moment to Think

Takes place post-af2, specifically recently after the defeat of Celesteal. It's short, but I've been wanting to prove that a.) I am alive, and b.) I haven't stopped thinking about the points. Even though my writitng streak has not been the best.

Stratosfear stares blankly at the dim starlight that shines down onto the world. The night sky tinted in a faint purple hue from the soft glow of the crescent moons in the sky.

It's a sight that he's still adjusting to, the point will admit. To see the consequences of his actions so clearly instead of it being hidden behind a curtain of regrets. There's no whispering in his ear, no visions of past mistakes. The what-ifs are still there, Stratosfear had given up on throwing them away, but they're quieter this time around.

He closes his eyes and tries to sink into the grass, body losing its tension and acknowledging the blades of grass that brush against himself. This is the first time the point had allowed himself to relax. Slow down. There was too much to fix, too much to correct.

The sky is still dull from a handful of missing stars

The angels are still weary of his presence, still scared, still unsure.

The other points are still hesitating around him. Stratosfear can't blame them, he can't, but he's trying to help reconnect with them. Starting by calling them by their new names; Ploque, Shallare, Solgon, Anshine. Anshine. It's Anshine now, not Mason.

A sigh passes at the reminder. Mason is gone, Mason doesn't remember. It's likely that Mason won't come back.

No, no. Stratosfear opens his eyes and pushes those thoughts aside. He shouldn't think like that, he has freedom now. Stratosfear can try again. Mason— the old times are gone, sure. But there are other people here that the point can befriend everyone without fear now.
