To anyone unaware of the lore:
Stratosfear, the character of focus, was given his powers by force
He was originally the Star Savior (person mentioned at the end), but after an encounter with someone, he became a puppet and his own enemy
WARNING - ANGST(pretty bad tho)
---
Stratosfear ran through the dark, empty hallways of the Emporium. Something was chasing him. Something REALLY bad was chasing him.
The pallet of the emporium was darkening from its bright, welcoming colors to pitch-black walls with red, glowing eyes staring at him with each step he took. The floor was now a dark grey with bold red patterns reminiscent of those on the platform he was forced on so many years ago.
The shattered point didn't look back at the creature chasing him. He didn't want to see what would kill him, he didn't want to fight it. All he wanted to do was get out of there as soon as he could.
Stratosfear jumped over the empty pool in front of Signol's world and through the door leading to the next set of worlds. He stumbled as he ran past Ploque's barricaded birdhouse and made a quick turn into Arrolin's pre-world area. He was tempted to jump down into Ixol's world and hide there but ran past battery canyon into the final door and into a room he's never been to.
The huge door slammed shut behind Stratosfear as he caught his breath, looking around the room. It was a long hallway, seeming to stretch on for miles. He recognized the red and cyan symbol on blackening pillars beside ceiling-high windows. The once white and blue floors were slowly fading into dark platforms with red lines carving a dark silver path down the middle of the hall.
Stratosfear stared at the seemingly endless corridor before gulping and slowly walking down the path, unsure of what to make of any of this. At the end of it was a dark blue room, walls curving from one door to the other on the other side. A black, circular platform cut the path off in the middle of the room, red patterns going through it to form a red star covering the entire floor. Someone yellow stood in the middle of the platform staring down at their hands... He kind of looks like-
"Anshine?" Called Stratosfear worriedly. "Anshine, what are you doing here- We need to go something's-"
"Anshine...?" The person asked, finally looking up from their hands and turning to Stratosfear. "Who is Anshine? Is... that who I become..?"
Stratosfear froze, now realizing who he was with. "Maynot...? I- I- don't... I'm sorry I thought-"
"Sorry can't change anything now... What happened to you? To your kindness?" Mayor Maynot questioned, taking a step forward. "You saved our town what made you want to destroy it??"
"M-Maynot I didn't mean to become this-" Stratosfear held his head, his voice starting to waver. "I didn't know I would-"
"You didn't know you would what?? Become Stratosfear?? Ruin our town??? Savior you- no." Maynot paused mid-sentence and glared at the shaking point in front of him before continuing. "Stratosfear, the pieces were set when you came. We ALL knew the things he did." The Mayor motioned to Stratosfear, taking another step forward.
"Maynot please I- I had no control over the situation I couldn't- I didn't- Something- Cyalm. Cyalm's the one who knocked the stars out of the sky- he's the real red X I-" Stratosfear stepped back suddenly, holding his arms as he realizes how close he was standing to Maynot. The expression on the Mayor's face haunted him, it was the face Maynot had when he first told him about the time loops.
"But YOU were the one who destroyed Maytown. You saw the clock tower's vision, you knew just what was coming our way" Maynot leaned forward slightly, voice barely reaching a mutter "Why did you walk right into it if you knew the trap??"
"Maynot I DIDN'T" Stratosfear yelled, making the robloxian in front of him step back in shock. "AND EVEN IF I DID I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD A CHOICE. I'D BE FORCED RIGHT IN!"
"Well, that's your fault!" Maynot yelled back. "You fit the role too well!"
"SAYS THE GUY WHO JUST STOOD THERE WHEN HIS TOWN WAS BEING HELD HOSTAGE"
"I was dealing with so many more things! My worries were already enough without YOU coming in and knocking the stars out of the sky!"
"FOR THE LAST TIME MAYNOT" Stratosfear grabbed Maynot by the arms, glaring at him through his Symbol. "THAT WASN'T ME"
The sound of crystals forming came up as Maynot started to laugh. Stratosfear looked down at the source and let go, realizing just what he did.
Starting from where Stratosfear held him, the Mayor's appearance was changing. The fade of orange and yellow grew over his clothes, creeping slowly to cover every inch of his body.
"Hahahaha... This is why I said you were too perfect for this role..." Maynot stated, grinning. "You're just too good at losing yourself."
Stratosfear's breathing started to quicken as he stepped back from Maynot. He held his head and started to mutter to himself, the world was spinning around him, he felt so dizzy... Everything was going red...
Wait- Red? That was only when...
Stratosfear held his face. His symbol was whole again, what?
The Mayor's gesture drove Stratosfear back into reality. A formal bow, even taking his hat off.
"Farewell, Star Stealer... I hope the Savior treats you well." Maynot stood up properly, wore his hat, and walked through the door. Not even worrying about the yellow growing on his arms.
Stratosfear was about to call for Maynot and run after him when he heard footsteps behind him. The point quickly turned around and gasped, staring at the robloxian in front of him.
Standing in the corridor that led back to the(now black and red) hallway was the first star savior, as ready for a fight as that horrid day.
Stratosfear couldn't move. As much as he wanted to he just couldn't turn around and run away, his eyes were locked onto the Savior.
The Savior ran towards Stratosfear and was about to punch him. Stratosfear covered his face with his arms but was too late and-
...
Stratosfear gasped, beads of sweat rolling down his face. He hastily held his face and looked around the room... His symbol was broken again, he was back in the bedrooms.
Was all of that just a dream? I sure hope it is...
Stratosfear stared at the ceiling for a bit, thinking about the dream. He looked out the window to see that it was still dark out and sighed.
I can worry about this tomorrow... I need some proper sleep...
Stratosfear glanced at Anshine, sleeping on the bed beside his own, and closed his eyes. Returning to a safer slumber than before.
