Chapter 27

Cole stared at her quietly, knowing Kyra was right. He could indulge. But not now. Not when he was going to take her downstairs to dinner and everyone would know he'd been all over her. She was a temptation though, one that he'd been tempted with for the last two days. 

"I need to get dressed," she said. 

He stepped out of her way and followed her out to her room, watching as she pulled out her clothes and got ready. 

"We can talk with Cade and figure out when we're leaving," she said. 

He nodded. "I need to pack."

She pulled on her shirt. "You ready?"

Cole nodded, and they left her room and headed downstairs and out of the pack house. The cafeteria wasn't too far away, and he glanced around. He would miss this place, but at the same time, he was curious about how the Royal Pack lived. He was going to have to get used to winters up in Pennsylvania. It rarely snowed in Georgia, though when it did, it didn't stick around. 

He followed Kyra inside, and up to the line for food, then over to the table and sat down next to her. Cade and Gabe joined them a few moments later. 

"Cade, how long are we staying?" Kyra asked him quietly. 

He glanced at Gabe. "You think you got it?"

Gabe nodded. "I think so."

"If you have questions or need help with anything, you can always call us. We're more than happy to help in any way you need," Cade told him. 

"I appreciate that," Gabe said with a smile. 

"Then, I suppose it's up to Cole. Whenever you're ready," Cade said, looking over to him. 

Cole nodded. "I can be ready by tomorrow."

Cade looked at Kyra and she nodded. 

Once he'd finished eating, he glanced at Kyra, who was also finished. "I'm heading back. You coming?"

She nodded and stood, and he followed her out of the cafeteria and back to the pack house. She walked up the stairs, and Cole followed her. Kyra stopped in front of her door and turned to look at him. 

"You want to keep me company while I pack?" he asked her. 

"Sure."

Cole headed down to his room and opened the door. Kyra followed him inside and stopped, while he closed it behind her. Then he turned to her and wrapped his arms around her, kissing her neck. 

Kyra sighed softly, leaning back against him. 

Cole picked her up and carried her over to his bed, laying her down on it, then he laid down next to her. "Kyra, I want to wait to mate you until after we return to your pack."

"Because of Chelsea?" she asked. 

"Yeah. Please don't think that I don't want you, because that couldn't be any further from the truth, but I don't want anything happening to you," he said quietly. 

"Okay. It's probably for the best, and since we're leaving tomorrow..." She glanced over at him. 

He rolled on his side. "Just one night."

"So you want me?" Kyra asked him as she rolled over to face him. 

He smiled. "Since I saw you naked."

She blushed then, surprising him. 

"You're blushing," he murmured softly, reaching out and lightly stroking her cheek. Her eyes fluttered, and he reminded himself that she'd feel the tingles. He hated that he couldn't feel them. Yet.
