Cole froze, reminding himself of the connection he had with Kyra. He reached out to her emotions. They were quiet, like she was asleep. He tried mind linking her, but it was like she was too far away. He frowned as panic began to set in. What was going on? Where was she? Cade?
There was no answer from him either, and Cole frowned in exasperation. He tossed his bag down, then walked out of the room and down the hall to the room Cade was staying in. He pushed the door open and walked inside, finding Cade laying on the bed naked. The she-wolf was between his legs, his cock in her mouth.
Cole stopped and his eyebrows shot up. The man in him had to admire Cade for finding a beautiful woman who was willing to give him head. If he was still single, he'd want Cade as his wingman. But something was wrong, and he needed to find Kyra. "Cade."
Cade lifted his head and groaned. "You're just as bad as Kyra. Interrupting me getting head."
Cole's eyebrows flew up at that. He wasn't sure he wanted to know. "Kyra is missing."
Cade rubbed his face, sighed and sat up. The she-wolf had stopped what she was doing. "You might as well go. Thanks." He kissed her cheek and she got up and left the room.
Cade stood and began to dress and sighed. "I feel off," he muttered.
"You had a lot to drink?" Cole asked him, watching his slightly shaky movements.
"No, I didn't. At least I don't think I did." Cade headed into the bathroom and splashed water on his face. He frowned at himself in the mirror, then turned back to Cole. "Yeah, something is off with me."
"Why do you say that?"
"I'm pretty sure I only had two drinks. I flirted with that girl all night. I'm not even sure what her name was. And then I brought her back here, planning to have sex with her," Cade said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"She wasn't the only girl you flirted with tonight," Cole reminded him.
Cade frowned at him. "She wasn't?"
Cole shook his head. "But she was the one you were mostly focused on."
"She looks like my mate," Cade muttered.
Cole stared at him in shock. "I thought you haven't found your mate."
"I haven't. But I do occasionally dream of her." Cade sighed. "She's so beautiful. Gorgeous. I've barely been able to give another woman a thought. And then I saw that girl tonight and ..." He stopped and shook his head, blinking his eyes a few times. "Okay. I left you and Kyra downstairs chatting. What happened after that?"
Cole frowned at him. "Kyra went upstairs well before I did, and before you did."
Cade looked at him in exasperation. "She did? Are you sure?"
"She said she was really tired. I was busy chatting away with some of my old pack mates. It was a constant flow of people coming through. But, after Kyra left, and you were still sitting there, flirting away, Chelsea came over and sat down in Kyra's seat and started talking to me. She was trying to convince me to take her as my Chosen again and I told her that I had mated Kyra. Not right away, but she doesn't give up. She wanted us to run this pack."
Cade shook his head. "Okay, then what happened?"
"I finally came up here and took a shower, then went to Kyra's room, but she wasn't there. Her phone is there, but her bag is gone," Cole said.
"Can you feel her?"
"No. It's like she's sleeping, but I can't mind link her," Cole told him. He was really getting worried about her.
