Kyra suddenly sucked on Cole's tongue and it went straight to his groin, making him hard. He'd already been half hard since he'd been in her bedroom. He groaned, his gaze moving over to the bed that wasn't ready for them. That needed to be made up for the night. More than likely, something was happening between them tonight, especially if he had his way. And he was fairly certain Kyra wanted it too. There shouldn't be any more interruptions, and now that he could feel the bond, he wanted to mate her, to be buried deep inside her. "Kyra."
She stared up at him, her eyes dark with her desire for him. "Yes?"
"We need to get this bed set up. If I suddenly decide I want you, it's going to be weird on plastic."
She laughed, delighting him. "You're right. I have to get some bed sheets." She frowned. "I don't have any king sized though."
"Me neither. I grabbed the stuff off my bed, but I didn't know we were going to be sleeping in a king sized bed," he said with a frown.
"You brought your bed clothes?" She looked at him in surprise.
He shrugged. "Yeah. They're mine."
"We could always put a Queen sized bed in the spare bedroom. Like a guest room. And we can make due for tonight and go shopping tomorrow?" she suggested.
"I'm fine with that." Cole let go of her and walked over to the mattress. He brought out a claw and sliced open the plastic, then began to remove it with Kyra's help.
"I might need to go grab the comforter off of my bed, so we can sleep on one. Your sheets are definitely not going to fit. Maybe some towels too. I need to make another trip up there," she muttered to herself.
Cole smiled at her. Her brain was working in overtime. So was his but all he was thinking about was her body. "Kyra?"
Her gaze snapped to his. "Yeah?"
"Why don't we empty one of my bags and you can take that up to fill," he suggested. He needed to get his thoughts elsewhere for the moment besides on her and how he was planning to explore her body tonight. He wanted her badly.
Her gaze darted down to his bag and she nodded. "They're big enough."
"What time is dinner?"
"Six. I don't even know what time it is." She pulled her phone out. "We have two hours."
"Okay. Where do you eat?" He wasn't sure if her pack did dinner the same way his did or not. She'd said her pack was different. They might not all eat together, and if not, they'd have to figure something out since there was no food in their apartment.
"We have a dining hall downstairs and food is served there three times a day. We can either eat down there or bring it up here, as long as we return the plates." She giggled. "Bri gets pissed when all of the plates disappear."
"Your chef?"
"Yes, and she's amazing! You're going to fall in love with her." Kyra promised.
He chuckled. "Okay." He picked up the bag that contained his bed clothes and opened it, pulling all of the stuff out and placing it on the bed. He turned back to her with the now empty bag. "Do you want me to come up there with you?"
"You can if you want to." She smirked at him.
"I think I might be more prepared this time," he muttered. At least now he knew how much her amazing scent was going to affect him.
Kyra walked over to him. "Cole?"
He turned to her. "Yeah, Kyra?"
She reached up and pulled him down to her, kissing him fiercely. His mind reeled as arousal shot through him hard, making him shudder a bit. He'd wanted her before he'd joined her pack, but not like this. He broke off the kiss. "If we keep this up, we're never making it out of here."
She laughed.
"I'm serious. It's .. I don't even know how to describe it. I was attracted to you before. I think you know that. I wanted you, but now it's ... magnified. It makes the bond so much more obvious," he murmured, trying to describe it to her. It was so weird how much more he wanted her now. He wanted to bury himself deep inside her and claim her as his.
Kyra tipped her head sideways, thinking over what he'd said. "I was ... crap. I didn't want a second chance. I don't mean anything against you at all, but when I got out of the car and caught your scent, I wanted to get back in and leave. Of course, at that moment, I didn't realize if I did, you'd probably lose your life." Her eyes welled up with tears, causing his heart to clench, and his state of arousal to calm down some.
"Oh Kyra," he whispered, wrapping his arms around her. "I somewhat understand, but not completely. I was angry for a long time when Kelsey died. Angry because I never really got a chance. It was like, Here's your mate, and then she was gone. I was mad because I thought that was it. But I never had a chance to fall in love with her, or mate her, or even really kiss her. She was gone before that happened. But you did, didn't you? You experienced all of that before he was so cruelly taken away from you."
She nodded. "Yes."
Cole would be lying if he said he wasn't jealous. He was, which was stupid. He shouldn't be jealous of a dead man, but he was. He pushed that thought out of his mind. He couldn't let that get between them. Yes, it sucked that he wasn't her first, but now she was his for all eternity. He just couldn't let himself dwell on the fact that she very easily couldn't have been his. That he would have never had a second chance. Or that some other man had known her so intimately.
"I lost my way after that," she whispered. "I disappereard and lived as my wolf for three months. I didn't tell anyone where I was. I just lived out in the wild. I had to disappear after the accident. I was badly injured and I healed up quickly, but I couldn't let anyone find me covered in blood without a scratch on me. Especially since he was .." she stopped. "So I ran. And I didn't stop. I ran for three months."
That surprised him. "I'm sure your pack and family weren't happy with you about that."
"No. But they had an idea of what had happened. I hadn't told anyone I'd found my mate. I was away at school at the time. College," she said. "I didn't tell anyone anything."
"Did you ever go back? To college?"
"No. I couldn't."
He nodded, holding her close against him. He couldn't blame her. He knew how it was when he first lost his mate. How raw he'd felt, like his soul had been ripped in two. He couldn't blame her for disappearing. Or not going back to school. "What were you going to school for?"
"Business management."
"To run the pack?" He didn't think he'd ever heard of anyone taking a business management course to run a pack. He knew there was an Alpha Class that Alphas could take. He was pretty certain Logan had taken it.
"No. My family owns a company called Remington Enterprises. It's basically what supplies the pack with an income. The guys you met today pretty much run it, with Daniel being the CEO. Dominic helps out a lot as well," she said quietly.
"Your.. uncle?" She did have a big family.
Kyra nodded.
"I see. Have you thought about going back?" he asked her, watching her face.
She grimaced. "No."
"Okay," he said softly. He'd ask her another day. He had a feeling she'd been adamant about it before, but now that she was mated to him and getting her life back on track, she might give it some thought. "We should go." Before I end up mating you on that bed.
"Okay." She tipped her head up and Cole smiled before kissing her softly. "Thank you, Cole."
"For what?"
"Being my second chance."
