Maagang umalis sina Miara kasama ang mga pinsan ni Primo papuntang Bago City. They left La Carlota before the sun rose and only slept in the van. Magkatabi sina ni Primo at sa balikat lang ng lalaki si Miara sumandal.
Isang hacienda na naman ang pupuntahan nila dahil doon din gaganapin ang kasal. Kung ang nasa La Carlota ay pag-aari ng mga Velasquez de la Riveras, ang mga pag-aari naman dito sa Bago ay nakapangalan sa mga Pei.
Sa labas ng gate ay may malaking tent. Sinalubong sila ng mga naka-PPE. Saka lang natandaan ni Miara na kailangan pala nilang magpa-Covid test.
Primo already informed her that it would be part of the safety protocols.
Although the testing center was only a tent, the equipments inside were complete. Pagkatapos lumabas ng mga results ay bumalik ulit sila sa van at tuluyan na silang nakapasok sa gate.
Miara thought that there'd be a mansion in the middle of the vast land where the wedding would be held. But she was mistaken.
May mansion nga sa gitna ng kalawakan ngunit hindi roon gaganapin ang kasal. Just like most haciendas, the main house is situated in the middle. It looked both ancient and Mexican-inspired but still well-kept.
Nang makapasok na sila ay saka lang napagtanto ni Miara na hindi lang pala isang bahay ang mansion. It was composed of several buildings and it doesn't look like just a house nor a mansion. It seemed more like a mini subdivision.
Pinapalibutan ng mga naglilinyahang bahay ang malaking fountain. Walang takip ang gitnang parte at may mga sun loungers sa gilid.
Miara's unsure if she feels like she's at The Hamptons or if she's at a luxurious chateau in Italy.
The fountain's design caught Miara's attention. It gleamed differently... ang kinang niyon ay nakakasilaw... wala pa ang sinag ng araw at ang umiilaw lang ay ang mga lampposts.
Nang makalapit na siya ay napasinghap siya dahil nakita. She let her hand ran through the surface of the fountain and confirmed that it is actually adorned with gem stones.
Lumapit si Primo sa kaniya at napangiti nang makita ang namamangha niyang expresyon.
"I'm not a crystal enthusiast, so I only know that there are diamonds, sapphires, and rubies in there," natatawa niyang sabi habang nakatingin na rin sa fountain.
While Primo was taking her bag, Miara was rooted to the ground, still can't believe that expensive crystals that are large as her fist are just casually adorned on a fountain.
Magkaiba ang kwarto nina Primo at Miara. Pagkatapos mag-ayos ay nagpahinga ulit si Miara. Nagising na lang siya nang maramdamang may yumuyogyog sa kaniya.
Kahit inaantok ay pinilit niya bumangon. The first person she saw was Ciara who's sitting on her bed. Siya ang gumising kay Miara.
Miara moved her eyes to the side and saw Primo just looking at the both of them. When she caught his eyes, he only shrugged with a sigh. It was like an explanation as to why it's his sister who woke her up and not him.
"Good morning, Ate Miara," Ciara beamed and hugged her. Pagkatapos niyon ay lumabas din naman ito.
"She likes waking people up," Primo explained and sat on the space that Ciara left.
Lumuhod si Miara sa kama at lumapit kay Primo para yumakap. She rested her head on his shoulder while his hands were caressing her back. Bumalik tuloy ang antok niya.
"I'm sorry to disturb your sleep but we have to start preparing," Primo said gently before kissing the top of her head.
Kinalas ni Miara ang yakap at saka tumango.
