The drive to the hospital felt like an eternity. Each moment was filled with worry and silent prayers for David’s recovery. When they finally arrived, they hurried to the intensive care unit, where a nurse directed them to David’s room.

David lay in the hospital bed, looking pale but conscious. The beeping of the heart monitor filled the room, a constant reminder of his fragile state. Seeing his children and daughter-in-law, David managed a weak smile.

“Hey, there’s my family,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Austin approached his father’s bedside, taking his hand. “Dad, we’re here. How are you feeling?”

David sighed, his expression weary. “I’ve been better, son. But seeing you all here gives me strength.”

Emma and Ashley stood on either side of the bed, offering comforting words and gentle touches. The doctor entered the room, explaining that David had indeed suffered a heart attack but was stable now. However, he needed to take it easy for a few months and follow a strict regimen to recover fully.
