Later that night, Austin and Emma sat Benny down for a talk. Benny could sense that it was important, his parents' expressions both serious and gentle.
"Benny, we need to talk about Lexy," Emma began.
Benny's heart raced. "What about her?"
Austin leaned forward. "It's clear to us that you two have feelings for each other. What's holding you back?"
Benny hesitated, then sighed. "I don't want to ruin our friendship. What if she doesn't feel the same way?"
Emma smiled knowingly. "Sometimes, you have to take a leap of faith. We see how happy you both are together. You owe it to yourself, and to her, to be honest about your feelings."
