As Lori-Anne was prepped for surgery, Alejandro joined the rest of the family in the waiting room. The atmosphere was tense with worry. Emma paced the floor, her face pale with anxiety, while Austin tried to stay strong for everyone.
Ashley and Benny sat close together, their hands intertwined, silently praying for Lori-Anne and the baby. Alejandro, though visibly shaken, tried to stay calm and hopeful.
Forty-six minutes felt like an eternity, but finally, the door to the waiting room opened, and Alejandro stepped in, his face breaking into a relieved smile.
“They’re both fine. Lori-Anne and baby David are doing great,” he announced, his voice thick with emotion.
The room erupted in cheers and tears of relief. Emma hugged Alejandro tightly. “Thank God,” she whispered.
