Third Person's POV

At June, 1st, every year, there's a big gathering called "잡담 or Jabdam" meaning small talk or chitchat in Korean. It's a kind of events that not everyone can just walk in nor brings anyone they want to. Since there're less than 60 families on the list so every member of each family will automatically has there name record. That basically means, only for those people that have the right to be participated.

This event seems like a very casual one which parents normally bring their kids to socialise with others family's kids, talking about business, getting to know each other or maybe involve a little bit of a charity auction which is totally what rich people do for fun. But what an outsider can't see is that this is one of the most important event of the year for those top 1 percent rich of the rich families in South Korea.
These people control everything in the country from food, real estate, hotels, restaurants to literally wrenches, screws and hammers. They are out there getting their hands in every piles of business industries. People called them the Chaebol.

In the last three years, the Baek family finally makes it to be one of them and Jia is going to escort her father to the gathering for the first time. Even though they're one of the top 3 in the world of real estate in Korea but their levels of rich is still small comparing to some of them big-big in the political position such as the Choi, Kim, and Jeon families who have some power to access to the military. While on top of them three, there's Kang. The South Korea current President, Kang Young-Hwa.

In the car on their way to the party, Mr Baek telling Jia about the information of who and what position they are in as well as who she should and should not be friends with tonight. In other words, he's teaching his daughter how to makes those connections beneficial in the future time. "Choi Woobin's youngest son can be very useful for us. It's such a shame that they're in-law with the Kim family." He said.

Jia knitted her brows, not very sure of which son he's referring to. "Youngest son?" She asked. "You mean SeungCheol, my friend?"

He nodded his head. "Being friend with him is good for you, Jia, but since we don't get along with Kim Tae I don't think they're useful anymore." Mr Baek is talking about Mingyu's father who is becoming his enemy and that also making him and Scoups's father (General Choi, Minister of Defence) not in a very good term too since the two families are in-law. "But as long as it's not affecting them, they can't do anything to us. For now."

Jia sighed, looking out the window before she throws the most bluntly comment ever. "It's not US dad, it's You. I don't remember doing anything wrong to them".

Mr Baek is speechless. Of course, she can say that she isn't involved in this adult conflict but if it wasn't because of her and Mingyu that day, he doesn't have to be standing on an eggshell right now too. Not mentioning that being close to Jeon (Jungkook's father) also adding fuel to the fire for him, thanks to his lovely only daughter.

He swallowed all the angers Jia awake as he start speaking again in hope of her understanding. "You're friend with Jungkook's cousin too. What his name again?"

"Wonwoo."

"Right. Isn't he the oldest son of Admiral Kim-Eun?" First female Chief of the Naval, (Wonwoo's mother), he's talking about.

"Hmmm." She replied.

He nodded slowly absorbing the information as he said, "Strengthen the bond, we will have a long way to go with them."

First step into the party, Jia thought they came to the wrong location since the way of people dressed up is very different from what she was expecting. It's weird that they didn't show up in their sparkling dress or their biggest diamond set, instead, they only have their watch on (3M dollar at least) with a regular white shirt and somehow still slay hard. Their choice of outfits is effortless but in a good way, as if they're on one of their private island, enjoy sunbathing with a glass of cocktail.
