"They shouldn't have done that. It upset him."

Y/N POV:

Will was brought to the lab, crying out in pain the entire way there. As he was rushed down the halls in a hospital bed, he clung to himself, tears streaming down his face.

Joyce tried to comfort him, but nothing seemed to ease his agony. Finally, they placed him onto a bed, and nurses and doctors surrounded him, attending to his needs with urgency.

"Will, where does it hurt?" one of them questioned.

"All over!" Will exclaimed through tears, his voice trembling with pain.

"He said he feels like he's burning," I said aloud, tears welling up in my eyes as I watched one of my best friends in agony, feeling helpless.

"She says he feels like he's burning, check for burns," Doctor Owens ordered.

The medical team swiftly cut his shirt with scissors and examined his chest, but found no burns or cuts.

"I don't see anything," a nurse mumbled. "Where does it hurt the most, Will?" she questioned.

"EVERYWHERE!" Will yelled.

Doctor Owens injected a needle into Will, and he instantly fell asleep. I watched as Bob held onto Joyce, and Mom rubbed her back, offering her support as she struggled to process the situation.

I gripped Arlo's hand tightly as we watched Will with tears in our eyes, feeling overwhelmed by the sight of our friend in pain.

"Here," my mom handed us three blankets as we were falling asleep on chairs next to Will.

"Get some sleep, kids," my mom said gently as we took the blankets from her.

"Thanks, Mrs. L/n," Mike and Arlo said gratefully as my mom smiled and turned to leave the room, likely to check on Joyce.

"Mom," I called out as she turned to me.

"Where is Dad and Hopper?" I asked, remembering seeing them before they got into the ambulance. I knew they were safe now.

"The doctors took them for a check-up," my mom reassured me with a smile before she left the room.

Arlo, Mike, and I exchanged worried glances as we settled back into our chairs, wrapped in the blankets my mom had provided.

"Man, I hope Will's gonna be okay." Arlo murmured, pulling the blanket tighter around himself.

"Yeah, me too. This whole thing is freaking me out," Mike added, his voice filled with worry.

I wrapped the blanket around myself tighter, feeling a shiver run down my spine. "I just wish we could do something to help him."
