"After all this is over, Can we go to the Snowball dance with me?"

Y/N POV:

The doctors had all left for a meeting, leaving me, Arlo, Mom, Dad, Will, Mike, Bob, and Joyce all alone in the small room.

"What is taking them so long?" Joyce sighed.

"Hey, doctors take forever. Just try and relax, be patient," Bob said, rubbing Joyce's arm.

"Yeah, Joyce, let's wait a bit longer," my mom added.

Joyce exhaled, and after a minute or so, she spoke again. "You know, I just..." She trailed off, getting up and leaving the room. Bob, Mom, and Dad followed her shortly, and I could hear her arguing with the security guards blocking the way, with Dad joining in the commotion.

I noticed Will staring at them, zoned out, not blinking at all.

"Will," Mike said softly, but Will didn't reply. Mike, Arlo, and I shared a concerned look.

"Will," Arlo called, but there was no reaction.

"Will," I said slightly louder than them. Will jumped and turned his head to look at us.

"What's wrong?" Mike asked him.

"Are you hurting again?" I asked him.

"I saw something," Will stuttered.

"In your new memories?" Arlo asked, raising an eyebrow.

"The Shadow Monster," Will responded as we looked at him alerted.

"I think I know how to stop him," he whispered leaning to us.

We were now in the meeting room with Will, examining the photos he had drawn, while seated on either side of him were Mike and me, with Arlo next to me and my parents, Joyce, Hopper, and Bob standing behind us.

After a while, one doctor grew impatient. "Sam, this is ludicrous," he sighed.

"Just give him a moment, okay," Owens replied calmly.

"We don't have time—" the doctor started before Hopper cut him off.

"Hey, jackass, why don't you do us all a favor and shut up, okay?" Hopper interrupted sharply.

"What I'm saying—" he began again, but I quickly used my powers to control him, making him stop and close his mouth with his hand. The other doctors looked at him strangely, while my parents, Joyce, Hopper, Mike, and Arlo turned to Will casually. Bob stared at him amused, clearly excited about my powers.

"Good job, kid," Hopper praised, and I nodded in response.

Will stood up, walking along the table and inspecting each of the photos. Owens slightly pushed some doctors out of the way to make room for Will, and he followed him around the table. Will stopped and pointed to a group of photos. "That's it," he said quietly, prompting everyone to lean in to see.

"That's what? What's there, Will?" Owens questioned.

"I don't know. I just know he doesn't want me to see it. I think it's important," Will answered as My dad, Hopper and Owen exchanged a glance.

Arlo and I stood outside of the room where Will lay, with Mike by his side. Meanwhile, my parents, Joyce, Hopper, and Bob were engaged in conversation with Owens in the waiting room.

"Hey," Arlo whispered, nudging me gently with his elbow.

I turned to him, offering a small smile. "Hey."

"You doing okay?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine concern.

I nodded, but the truth was, I was a bundle of nerves. "Yeah, just worried about Will."

Arlo nodded in understanding, his gaze softening as he looked at me. "Me too. But he's a tough kid. He'll pull through."

"I hope so." We stood in comfortable silence for a moment.

"Y/n?" Arlo's voice broke the silence, tentative yet hopeful.

"Yeah?" I turned to him, meeting his gaze.

"I... uh... I just wanted to say..." Arlo trailed off, his cheeks tinged with a faint blush.

I waited patiently, my heart fluttering nervously in my chest.

"I just wanted to say... you're amazing, y'know?" Arlo finally managed to say, his eyes locking with mine.

A soft smile tugged at my lips, my cheeks warming at his words. "You're pretty amazing too, Arlo."

Arlo's smile widened, his eyes sparkling with affection. "Thanks, y/n."

"And also, um," he began again, and I waited for him, feeling a hint of anticipation as he cleared his throat. "After all this is over, can we go to the Snowball dance with me?" he asked, his voice tinged with nervousness.

I pursed my lips to hide my grin, trying not to show every single one of my teeth. "I'd love to, Arlo," I said, feeling my heart flutter with excitement.

With blushing cheeks, we both stood there for a moment, the weight of Arlo's question lingering between us. After a few silent minutes, I finally broke the silence. "Okay, let's go," I said, and we both turned and entered the room.

"What are they planning?" Mike asked me as we took our seats.

"They're sending soldiers," I replied after reading minds, sitting next to Mike.

"Right now?" Mike questioned, a hint of concern in his voice as Arlo sat down beside me.

"Yeah," I confirmed with a nod.

"I'm sorry," Will suddenly said, causing all of us to look up at him.

"What? What do you mean, sweetie?" Joyce asked, rubbing Will's arm.

"He made me do it," Will sniffed.

"Who? Who made you do what?" Joyce questioned.

"I told you. They upset him. They shouldn't have done that. They shouldn't have upset him."

Myself, Arlo, and Mike exchanged looks, and then it dawned on us. "The spy," we all said simultaneously.

"What?" my mom asked, but we ignored her and got up, running out.

As Mike and Arlo reached the door, the security guards grabbed them.

"We need to get through! It's a trap!" Arlo yelled.

As I ran up, one security guard let go of Mike and grabbed me. "Let go of me! It's a trap!" I exclaimed, struggling. Bob came and grabbed Mike.

"IT'S A TRAP!" the three of us yelled, struggling against the guards' hold.
