Ms. Love
Howard and I went to the beach house for the dinner party. It was pretty nice except the fact that Howard wouldn't leave the topic of Diamond being his daughter. It makes no sense for her to know now if you ask me. She doesn't even remember him.
On the drive to the party he was telling me that Jeff was supposed to tell her on the trip. It came apparent he didn't say anything to her beacuse when we confronted her she was the same ole Diamond. I dont get what's the big deal.
Samantha
We got back to the beach house and got separated. After about an hour i found Jeff in the room in the dark sitting on the bed.
"Jeff?"
"What?" He said clearing his throat. "Im coming out now."
"Your mom's here."
"Im aware."
"Are you okay?" I said now standing in front of him.
I saw his head look up and his watery eyes glistening from the moon light. He held me by my hips. We had a moment of silence then he pulled me down onto him.
"I love you." He whispered as he rolled me over so that i was under him.
"I love you too." I said before he kissed me.
Jeremiah
The party lasted long. When everyone left it was about time to head to bed. Everyone was preparing to go to their rooms when Jeff came running to me.
"Have you seen Diamond?" He said slightly scared.
"No."
"I knew this would happen." He said walking away.
"What? Jeff come here." I began to walk with him but them Sam stepped in front of me and handed me a flashlight.
"Whats going on?" I asked.
"Diamond's missing!" Jeff yelled at me angrily.
"Dont yell at me!" I retaliated.
"Who you think you talking to?!" Jeff said walking to me.
"Guys! Please. Diamond." Sam said getting between us. She handed him a flashlight and guided him to the sliding door and they searched the beach for her.
"Jeremiah." Kayla said tapping my shoulder.
"Yeah?" I said turning around.
"Where do you think she is? Everyone's looking for her."
"She probably ran off with Darius."
"Maybe." She said uneasily.
Casper
After i broke up with Diamond i immediately regretted it. For the rest of the day i was in my feelings. I stayed in my room and called my dad.
"Hey son."
"Dad." I said with a crack in my voice. "Can you talk?"
"Yeah for a while. Im getting ready. Whats wrong?"
"I made a mistake."
"Which was?"
"I broke up with Diamond."
"Why?"
"She moved."
"Talk to her and figure something out. Im sorry son i have to go. Love you."
"Love you too dad."
I hung up the phone and layed there. I really did make a big mistake. Soon enough i fell asleep and woke up at around 5 in the morning to get ready for practice.
After a few weeks i visited Jeff's house after practice i went to Jeff's house and knocked on the door.
"Coming." A girl said from inside. Could it be Diamond?
The door opened and a woman stared at me. "Yes?"
"Uhh. Is Jeff home?" I asked timidly.
"Jeff!" She said walking to the stairs.
"Yeah." He said coming down the stairs. "What do you want?" He asked when he saw me.
"Im guessing she told you."
"No sh-" Jeff began to say before the woman stopped him.
"You must be Casper." She said guiding me inside.
"Yeah."
"Im Jeff's girlfriend." She said closing the door. "Why dont you two take a seat and talk."
"Babe." Jeff said.
"Ill be upstairs." She walked up the stairs and left us in silence.
"What you want?"
"I dont know."
"Why you here?"
"I dont know." I said. "I just came."
"You don know how bad i want to deck you in your shit." He said walking up to me.
"Jeff. Im sorry yo." I said a little scared and backing up.
He stuck out his hand and looked at me.
"I forgive you."
"What?"
"I forgive you. You hurt my sister and i told you ill mess you up if you did. But i love my sister enough to be here for her and not in jail for choking you."
"I understand."
"So. I forgive you."
I looked at his hand and shook it. I kind of felt a wave of relief when i shook his hand. I honestly thought he would've killed me.
"Thanks." I said nervously.
"Yeah."
"Can i see Diamond's room?"
"Why?"
"I don't know. Im kinda out of it."
He moved from in front of me and i walked up the steps. I saw the newly patched whole before i entered her room.
I closed the door behind me and took a deep breath.
"Still smells like her." I thought to myself.
I sat on the bed and looked around. Thats when i noticed she left one of her note books lying on the desk. I got up to put it away and i saw my name on it.
"Are these all the things she wrote about me? I got my own book?" I said to myself.
"Casper." Jeff said walking in. "Your brother is looking for you."
"Alright im coming." I took the book and left the house to see Alex sitting on the steps.
"There you are." He said when he saw me.
"Whats up?"
"Nothing. You good?" He said looking at me weird.
"Yeah why?"
"Your eyes red. You been smoking?" He asked smelling me.
"No. Get off me."
"Whats in your hand?" He asked as we walked to the house.
"Don't worry about it."
"Leme see." He said reaching for it.
"Naw for real stop." I pushed him aggressively and he looked at me.
"Iight chill."
"Where you been?" Star said standing at the door as i opened it. "Uncle Drey waiting on you."
"Waiting on me for what?"
"Im taking you to New York with me."
"Oh for real?" I said getting excited.
"Yeah. So go pack." My stepmom said.
I rushed up the stairs to my room and packed. I put Diamond's book in my book bag and made my way downstairs.
"Bye yall." I said throwing up a peace sign.
"So silly." Uncle Drey said taking my hat off my head.
The ride was enjoyable and full with awkward silence.
"Dwayne." Unc. Drey said once it got quiet again.
"Yeah?"
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"You're really quiet. Thats not exactly you."
"I just got alot on my mind."
"Like what?"
"Dont worry about it. It's stupid."
"C'mon."
"A book."
"Oh what happened in the book?"
"I haven't read it yet."
It got quiet for a minute then i spoke up.
"Have you ever wanted to go back in time?"
"Yeah. Im sure everyone has."
"Okay." I said.
"You okay?"
"Yeah. Im good."
"Alright."
Uncle Drey
Ever since i took Dwayne to New York hes been acting weird. Very distant at times but then he's being him self. I got him a basketball coach for the summer so he can still play while he's here.
"Hey Unc." He said getting in the car after his basketball practice.
"How was practice?"
"It was alright. We were working on three pointers."
"That's good."
"Yes sir." He said then got on his phone.
"Who you texting?"
"My homie."
"When last you talked to your girl. What was her name?"
"Diamond." He said quietly then looked out the window.
"Yeah, Diamond."
He got really quiet. "Dwayne?" I said.
"Yeah?"
"Well?" I asked pulling into the drive way.
"I don't want to talk about her right now." He said getting out the car.
I got out and unlocked the door for us. Dwayne walked in and straight up to the guest room.
"What's is problem?" My wife asked walking down the steps.
"Rough day in practice." I said giving her a hug.
Casper
Why my uncle had to bring up Diamond? "When last i talked to Diamond?" She dont want to talk to me.
I sat on the bed in silence and looked at the time. 10:40 A.M.
"These early morning practices are killing me." I said laying back.
I opened my text messages and tapped on Diamond. Doesn't hurt to try.
Me: hey its Casper
Diamond: ik
Me: how u doin?
Diamond : im alright. U?
Me : im okay. Moved on?
Diamond : what do u want?
Me : can we be friends?
Diamond : y?
Me : imy...
Diamond : then y break up?
Me : I've told u already.
Diamond : yeah sure. I hav to go.
Me : Where u goin
Diamond : beach house Bye. Ill text you later.
Beach house? What the hell. How rich is her family?
The rest of my day consisted of my Uncle trying to figure out what's bugging me. Then his neighbors came over for a game night. Who goes over to their neighbors house for game night? But to be honest it was kind of fun.
The neighbors went home at like 12 and i made it back to the guest room by 1:30.
I layed down and took a look at my phone. 5 missed calls and 3 voice mails. All from Diamond.
