~*~ A Local Café ~*~
Yami Yugi, Joey, Tristan, and Tea are sitting at a table in a cozy local café. The sun filters through the windows, casting a warm glow on their faces. The café is bustling with people chatting, sipping coffee, and enjoying their day. Diana, a friend of theirs, sits a few tables away, engrossed in her homework.
Yami Yugi: (Noticing Diana) Something's been bothering her. I can sense it.
Tea: (Glancing over) Diana? She has been a bit distant lately.
Joey: Maybe she's just stressed about schoolwork or something.
Tristan: Could be, but Yugi's usually right about these things. Why don't you go talk to her, Yugi?
Yami Yugi: (Standing up) I think I will. (He walks over to Diana's table, where she is writing in her notebook.)
Diana: (Looking up, surprised) Yugi... I mean, my king. What are you doing here?
Yami Yugi: (Sitting down across from her) Diana, why have you been avoiding me? We've been friends for so long, and now it feels like there's a wall between us.
Diana: (Avoiding eye contact) It's nothing, really. I've just been busy with my studies.
Yami Yugi: (Pulling out a photograph from his pocket) I found something at the museum today. (He places a picture of an ancient stone carving on the table. The carving depicts a man and a woman who bear a striking resemblance to Yami Yugi and Diana.)
Diana: (Eyes widening slightly, but her face remains composed) That's interesting. But what does it have to do with us?
Yami Yugi: (Leaning closer) You know what it means, Diana. Please, don't hide the truth from me. Do you... do you love me?
Diana looks away, her face a mask of emotions. Yami Yugi, sensing her hesitation, moves to his knees before her, his voice soft and pleading.
Yami Yugi: (Begging) Please, Diana. Tell me the truth. I need to know.
Diana: (Quickly reaching out to stop him) Yugi, get up! This is the 21st century, you can't just kneel in a café! You'll make a scene.
Yami Yugi: (Holding her hand, still on his knees) I don't care about the scene. I care about you. Even if our marriage was arranged in the past, my feelings for you are real. I've always loved you, Diana.
Diana: (Her voice trembling) I... I do love you, Yugi. But I thought it would be easier if I let you move on. We are in a different time now. I didn't want to bind you to an old promise.
Yami Yugi: (Rising to his feet, gently pulling her up with him) Diana, you are not just an old promise. You are my present and my future. (He cups her face in his hands and presses his lips to hers, hoping she will kiss him back.)
For a moment, the world around them fades away. Diana closes her eyes and returns the kiss, her arms wrapping around him.
Tea: (From their table, nudging Joey) Looks like Yugi finally got through to her.
Joey: (Grinning) About time!
Tristan: (Chuckling) Yeah, our pharaoh deserves some happiness.
Yami Yugi: (Breaking the kiss, looking into Diana's eyes) I love you, Diana. And I always will, no matter the time or place.
Diana: (Smiling softly) I love you too, my king.
They embrace, the café buzzing around them, but in that moment, nothing else matters. Yami Yugi and Diana have found each other again, bridging the gap between past and present with their love.
