❝WHO EXACTLY ARE YOU?❞
— Kikoru asked me as we ran around, shooting every Yoju we came across.
“You should know my name, i came first in the fitness test, and got the highest unleashed combat power. ” I replied, shooting another one that the others couldn’t finish off properly.
“I didn’t mean that. ” Kikoru stopped, making me stop too.
“Oh, you’re asking for that kind of identity.” I hummed.
“You should ask your father when we get back. I’m not a fan of yapping about my personal life. ” I added.
“You can just tell me, why drag it-”
“Must i repeat myself? ” I looked her in the eye, trying my best to act intimidating. It worked.
“Good, if you’re not going to move, i’m leaving. ” I turned around, putting my mask on again and jumping off, leaving her behind.
I looked around the area, deciding to leave a few Yojus alive for the others. After all, it’d be boring if i just kill every single one i come across.
Still, for precaution, i shot each one or two times to make sure they’re weakened. These things are capable of evolving, who knows what kind of shit might occur.
Upon seeing the familiar mop of white, i fastened my pace and just when i was a few meters a away, a Yoju suddenly appeared and tackled Kafka-san.
“Wha- !” My eyes widened, rushing over and shooting the Yoju multiple times in anger. Toppling over it once i reached them, shooting it one more time causing for its body to disappear quickly.
“Kafka-san!” I jumped down, rushing over to his side in worry.
“I’m fine, thanks for the help.” Kafka-san just smiled at me, and i sighed at his current state.
“That’s the third time, Hibino Kafka.” Shinomiya suddenly appeared behind us, a serious expression on her face.
“When i’m in the battlefield, no one gets to quit.” She said, before leaping off — not forgetting to scoff at Kafka-san.
“Such a brat.” I sighed, looking back at this old fart.
“Can you stand?” I asked, guiding him to sit up.
“You can’t, huh. Your leg’s broken.” I glanced at his broken leg.
Suddenly, the vice-captain’s voice resonated in our earpieces. Maybe just mine, Kafka-san, and Reno since we’re here at the area.
He said things about the irregularities they detected in Kafka-san. Injuries and fractures, even organ damage, he said.
I could sense Kafka-san’s worries, and i knew i had to say something even if it’s just to lighten his mood.
“Vice-captain, this is 2021.” I spoke, still eyeing Kafka-san.
“Oh? Is there something wrong?” He replied, and it took every single self-restraint i had to not squeal and fangirl.
“Please let him continue.” I said, standing up.
“This may sound impudent, but no matter what happens, never activate his suit’s shield. Even if he’s on the verge of dying.” I added.
“That’s a dangerous request. Are you willing to take responsibility? Does he approve?” He rebutted.
“I can ask the same thing. Does 2032 want to quit already?” I questioned.
“I know better than anyone that Kafka-san doesn’t want to give up yet. At all costs.” I breathed out.
“And i don’t believe it will be necessary to activate anyone’s shield since i’m certain we will all pass. And no one will get injured to that extent,” I paused.
“At least not when i’m in the area.”
